Champions Dinner May 11!
We are so excited for our annual Champions Dinner on May 11! This exciting night will be a chance for our whole community to share a meal, learn about the successes of the past year and discuss how we would like our community to grow in the upcoming school year. We will also be having elections for the PTA Executive Board for the 2023-24 school year. The dinner will take place in the MS 50 cafeteria from 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday, May 11. Summer is just around the corner! Summer Rising applications are open for all students until May 1. This year, MS 50's Summer Rising site is at IS 71 (Juan Morel Campos Campus) with afternoon programming from El Puente Beacon. You can apply for any Summer Rising program, not just the program associated with MS 50 and El Puente, but you have priority access for the site associated with MS 50. WNYC Features MS 50 8th Grader!
As part of National Poetry Month, WNYC's Morning Edition has featured poets from across the city. Last week, MS 50 8th Grader Lola Sauzo-Lopez joined WNYC's Michael Hill to talk about her relationship with poetry and read a work of her own! Listen to Lola read her poem online!
Poetry Slam 4/25
We’re excited to share that the annual MS 50 Spring Poetry Slam will take place this Tuesday at 3pm. Our student poets will take the stage to share their original poetry to an audience of their peers. Our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students have been hard at work refining their poetry and are excited to share their work on Tuesday. The Spring Poetry Slam is presented in partnership with Urban Word. Urban Word teaching artists are currently in residency at MS 50 and seek to provide young, creative voices with the tools, training, and platforms to rewrite the narratives that shape their lives and their communities.

- $40.00 (includes Cap and Gown, Yearbook)
TOTAL: $180.00
You can pay in cash, money order or check to MS 50, and make payment installments. You will get a receipt. June 2nd (Friday) is the last day to pay Senior Dues. Please see Ms. Sostre, Guidance Counselor in room 219 and call her with any questions at 917-202-6257.
