Get Tickets Today: New Faces Production of LOST GIRL
Long after returning from Neverland, Wendy Darling realizes she never truly moved on from the adventure or the promises of “the boy who wouldn’t grow up.” Poetic, funny, and heartbreaking, LOST GIRL reimagines the world beyond Peter Pan, weaving a rich tapestry of storytelling about memory, agency, and what it means to choose yourself after the magic fades. It is the story of the girl who had to grow up, and the woman she becomes because of it.

Students & Staff Can Early Vote Right Here on Campus
Homewood-Flossmoor High School is proud to provide a meaningful civic opportunity for our school community. On Thursday, February 26, 2026, HFHS will host, in conjunction with the Cook County Clerk’s Office, an Early Voting Pilot Program in the Viking Room from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This initiative is designed to promote civic engagement and support eligible members of our school community in participating in the democratic process. The early voting opportunity is available exclusively to:
Current HFHS students who will be 18 years old on or before November 3, 2026 (General Election Day)
HFHS staff and faculty who meet voter eligibility requirements
Students and staff who are eligible but not yet registered to vote will have the opportunity to complete same-day voter registration on site. Please note that two forms of identification are required, and at least one must display the voter’s current address.
This experience provides a powerful real-world learning opportunity for our students, reinforcing the importance of civic responsibility, informed decision-making, and active participation in our democracy. We encourage all parents and guardians to discuss this opportunity with their eligible students and support thoughtful conversations about the role of voting in civic life.
Please be advised that this early voting site is limited to eligible HFHS students, staff, and faculty only and will not be open to parents or members of the general public.
Thank you for your continued partnership in fostering civic engagement within the HF Family.

Congrats to HF's Own Ms. Tenny!
HF is proud to share that one of our reading specialists, Ms. Anna Tenny, has successfully completed a two-year comprehensive professional learning program grounded in the science of reading, LETRS--Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling is a comprehensive professional learning program grounded in the science of reading. Through this training, Anna deepened her understanding of how students learn to read, including the structure of language, phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. She also strengthened her ability to analyze student data, identify skill gaps, and design targeted, explicit instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
This learning is especially important in her role as a reading specialist, as it equips her to provide highly effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, coach colleagues, and ensure that instruction aligns with evidence-based literacy practices. Anna’s commitment to this rigorous training reflects her dedication to improving outcomes for students and supporting strong literacy instruction across our school. We're proud to have her in our Viking Family!

On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
Your participation in the parent survey will help us guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

HF to Offer the ASVAB Test on Wednesday, February 25th
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a standardized test that helps people determine their eligibility for military service and job training, and identify careers that may be a good fit for them. It's administered to students in grades 10-12 and applicants to the U.S. Air Force, Army, and National Guard.
The test evaluates a person's knowledge and their ability to learn different subjects. It's designed to help people find a job that matches their strengths and where they're most likely to succeed.
The ASVAB also provides a post-test interpretation that shows students how their interests match careers in terms of salary, occupational outlook, and education pathways. This information can help students prepare for college and careers.
HF is excited to offer the ASVAB during the school day to any interested 10th-12th grade HF student on Wednesday, February 25th. Students must register in advance as seats are limited. Please register here.
