Positivity Project-P2
This week we will focus on the character strength Teamwork. Click here for more information about this character strength.
What it is: Teamwork means placing a higher priority on group success than individual success. It's working together for the common good as opposed to one's own self-interest.
Why it is important: When we help one another and root for each other, we further group goals and ultimately contribute to the greater good of our school.
Interactive P2 Bulletin Board
Have you seen our interactive bulletin board display? Sometimes, one of the bulletin boards near the cafeteria will have an activity for students to engage in. Many times, it will relate to the Positivity Project. For instance, last spring there were several dry erase boards attached to the bulletin board. Students were encouraged to write the names of peers that they had done something kind to/for that day. We also displayed pictures of children being kind. It was a great way for students to reflect on how they show kindness each day. Currently, the title of our interactive board is ‘How did summer inspire you?’ We are asking that you help your child choose a picture of from the summer to print. Together, think about the character trait that might be portrayed in the picture and write it on the picture. For instance, if the picture is of your child building a sand castle, the trait in the caption could be ‘creativity’. If the picture is of your child celebrating his/her grandmother’s birthday, the trait might be ‘love’. Let’s help our children fill the bulletin board with photos of themselves! They always feel like celebrities when their pictures are posted in the school! Thank you for your participation!
