On Tuesday, June 16th our students and staff will enjoy our End of Year Luau! Please note that while Tuesday is a full day of school for students, we will be running a special half-day academic schedule so our Colts can spend the afternoon celebrating from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

We have a fantastic lineup of Luau-themed activities! Grade levels will split and each spend a portion of the Luau enjoying both indoor and outdoor activities.

💙Donations - THANK YOU to our families for providing donations for our Luau! Donations should be dropped off at the Roosevelt School Main Office by the end of day on Monday, June 15th!

🍦 A Very Special Sweet Treat!

Over the last few weeks, our students were set a massive challenge: work together to earn 236 Roosevelt Road Tickets (averaging 1 per student) to unlock a school-wide ice cream truck visit. Not only did they meet their goal, they completely crushed it—earning over 350 tickets! We are so incredibly proud of their amazing hard work.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to our Superintendent, Dr. Maroun, for generously sponsoring the ice cream truck to reward our students' success!

End of Year CLAP OUT 👏

Parents, guardians, and caregivers, please join us on Thursday, June 18th @ 1:15 PM on the Roosevelt School front lawn - Brooks Blvd. - for our End of Year Clap Out Ceremony. Classes will be dismissed at the conclusion of our ceremony!

📖 Summer Reading & Math Assignments - Required! 📐 📖 Summer Reading & Math Assignments - Required! 📐

This week, students will be introduced to their 2026 Summer Reading and Math assignments! A digital copy of the assignment can be found below, and hard copies will be send home with students!

🌞 Why It Matters: Continuing to practice reading and math over the summer helps prevent the "summer slide"—the learning loss that can occur when students take a long break from academics. These assignments are a great way to keep skills strong and ensure a successful start to the new school year!

📌 Reminder: All students are expected to complete their summer assignments. Completed assignments are due when students return to school in September.

🎒 Attendance Matters 🎒 Attendance Matters

It's The Final Countdown

As we move into the final month of the school year, it can be tempting to let routines slide—but this is actually the most critical time for consistent attendance! Staying on track now ensures our students are fully prepared for end-of-year milestones and their transition to the next grade.

  • Routine & Reliability: Consistent attendance helps students stay connected to their peers and keeps their learning momentum high. Every lesson builds on the last, and being here in person makes all the difference.

  • Every Minute Counts:

    • 8:25 AM: Doors open for breakfast.
    • 8:35 AM: Regular arrival begins.

    • 8:45 AM: School starts promptly.

🏫 Aiming for an 8:35 AM arrival gives your child the "soft landing" they need to organize their materials and start the day with a smile.

Let’s keep our attendance "Excellent" all the way to the finish line! Thank you for partnering with us to make every school day count for our Roosevelt Colts. 🐴

🛑 Safety First: Crucial New E-Bike Rules for Parents and Students 🛑

With more students than ever using electric bicycles to commute to school, safety on our roads and around school zones has become a top priority. E-bikes are heavier and faster than traditional bicycles, making safe riding habits and strict adherence to traffic laws absolutely critical.

To reduce crashes, prevent serious injuries, and protect all roadway users, New Jersey has put a New State Safety Law into effect. Law enforcement's goal is safety and education —but we need parents and students to understand the rules of the road immediately to ensure everyone gets home safely.
