Student Spotlight
Even after 28 years of teaching advanced science classes, I would be hard-pressed to name a student who more exemplifies academic excellence in the sciences than Tierra Boyd. Tierra's self-motivation, focus on learning, and attention to detail are exceptional, and her performance in Anatomy & Physiology, AP Biology, and CTE Medical reflect her efforts. She's the type of student who, if she misses a question on an exam, I know I should probably check for an error in the key. Tierra's stellar performance comes in a manner that also inspires and encourages her classmates in a quietly confident way. In addition to her impressive scholastic performance, Tierra is a clear leader who is clearly respected by her peers, having served as club historian for the ECHS Black Student Union for her junior year, her hard work, dedication, and ability to work collaboratively with other students and schools were recognized when she was elected as the BSU club President for 2026. Keep up the great work ~ Mr. Carson
Student Spotlight
Mr. Sumpter has selected from his 1st period Video Production, Colin Lawrence. Colin is not only getting straight A's in his classes, he consistently produces the highest level of audio and video projects in our class, and has a professional presence on KYDS 91.5 FM. He demonstrates what careful attention to detail matched with creativity can bring to academic performance. Colin demonstrates the El Camino Eagle tenets of respect, responsibility and readiness on the daily, and I have no doubt that he will find success at every level he reaches for it. Congrats! ~ Mr. Sumpter
