Blue Team Weekly Update
Week of 4/13-4/17
Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Camden
We made it through our third week of distance learning.
Assignments are posted to Google Classroom each day by 8:30am. Please check there for instructions and work to complete.
We focused our lessons this week around nonfiction text features. Students should be able to recognize how authors of nonfiction use text features to help them understand the material.
Everyone should be reading. I posted a Google form to fill out when you complete books. If you are having trouble finding access to books, check out the library Google Classroom or send Mrs. Tumminello a message. She has compiled a list of free resources. Mrs. Tumminello’s library Zoom meetings for Blue Team are on Thursdays at 11:00am.
Scholastic has set up their system so books can ship directly to your house. If you use our class code M9G7W you will get books delivered, and I will still get the scholastic points to add books to my classroom library for next year when the library is closed.
The best way to contact me is by email. I prefer that parents use camden.stacy@wgmail.org and that students use camden.stacy@wgcloud.org
You can email anytime. My office hours are M-F 1-2pm. If you need to set up a Zoom conference, please email me and we can set a time and date together.
Science- Mr. Vorel
This week we have continued our unit on waves. Students studied the different types of waves, the characteristics of waves, and started to dive into the electromagnetic spectrum. Students also read an article about tsunamis as a way to make the real world applications of our unit of study.
Next week students will connect their understanding of waves with Earth Day focused assignments.

Students are BULLISH on the market. We set up our class portfolio and allocated their $100,000 in what could accurately be described as “fake” money.
We will look at their portfolio on Monday, except for one class): - How many digits do you have on your hand?
Monday, we continue with Civil Rights and begin our journey through the Amendments to our Constitution.
Hope all is well for you and your family.
