Highlights of the Week
We are the Champions!
A HUGE congrats to our 7th grade football team for becoming the 7th grade Hoosier Legend Conference Champions! They had an amazing 7-0 season and brought home a nice trophy to add to the case! We are so proud of you, boys!!!
World Culture Night!
GMS took part in the corporation wide World Culture Night at GHS last Thursday and it was amazing! A big thank you to our ELL teachers for organizing this event-it was exciting to see so many of our students show up and share about themselves!
Walk A Thon Fun!
Our PTO Walk-A-Thon was a big success. Thanks to everyone who donated. The kids had a fantastic time!
Artists at Work
Ms. Webb's Homeroom did some work with paper mache this week!
Coding with Sphero!
Here are a few students from Mr. Dean's homeroom that enjoyed some time in the hall learning coding skills!
Super SROs!
GMS is lucky to have a ton of fantastic School Resource Officers that keep our buildings safe each day! We have started a snack cart for them to show our appreciation. Please feel free to send in snacks for the cart and mark them with "SRO" so we can keep showing them some love! These can be dropped off in the office!
State XC!
Congrats to all of our students who competed in the XC State Meet last weekend! There were several PRs that day and your coaches are so proud of you!
Weight Room
Have you ever seen the weight room facilities at GMS? I would venture to say it is one of the nicest weight rooms in the state-here are some kids getting fit in APC (Advanced Physical Conditioning)!
Grand Champions
Our middle school students that compete with the GHS Band and Guard had a great competition at Center Grove, earning Grand Champions for the day-way to represent GMS, kids!
Scientists at Work
Students in Miss Vest's classes had fun with their boat lab on Wednesday!

Important Info and Reminders
1. We are at the start of a new 9 weeks! I have been announcing to kids that this is a fresh start and a chance to nix any bad habits they may have gotten into the first quarter. Please make sure you are checking the homework link below to keep on top of their assignments and check powerschool to help keep them on track!
2. If your family is interested in applying for holiday food or gift assistance this year, please fill out the form here. This form is not the application for gift assistance, or the winter holiday food basket assistance. You will get the applications emailed to you within a few days. The deadline for requests is October 21st. If you have any questions, please send an email to Mrs. Badger at rbadger@gws.k12.in.us or Mrs. Forey at kforey@gws.k12.in.us.
3. The GEF is fundraising by selling Pacers discounted tickets-all money raised helps Greenwood students, so please check out this link and purchase tickets!
Keeping Track of it All
Check the link below for homework to help your child keep on top of assignments. Teachers will update it frequently. Sometimes things that weren't fully completed in class will become homework and sometimes adjustments are made, so please make sure to check back each night to see the most up to date info! You can access that homework sheet by clicking here.
Here is another reminder that your child fills out a Grade Check Sheet every Wednesday with current grades and missing assignments. Ask them to see this!
Show Some Love!
Pacers Game
$5 Lunch Treats
In addition to Ella's on some Tuesdays, we have added other treats so there will be a $5 option every Tuesday. Auntie Anne's will serve Soft Pretzel Nuggets once a month and Jamba Juice will have two different smoothie options once a month as well. A percentage of the proceeds goes to our PTO!
