HCHS Music Boosters Newsletter

We are a 501(c)3 not for profit charitable organization of parents and friends of the Hinsdale Central Music Classes dedicated to supporting students and staff in the band, choir, harp and orchestra programs. We financially support special events including concerts, receptions, and judged festivals. Directors can also make specific requests. We fund need based scholarships for private lessons and ensemble travel. We help recruit volunteers for events such as football games, the Holiday Concerts, 8th grade recruitment, and awards night.

Please look at the various Sign Up Genius emails requesting volunteers. We are especially in need of a vice-president and treasurer as last year’s parents no longer have music students. Please contact us or your student’s director if you are able to help in these roles.

Most importantly, please support our musicians. Attend as many performances as you can, even ensembles your child is not in. Spread the word about upcoming concerts – they are open to anyone. There is a wealth of music to be enjoyed by our community. And finally, if you are able, please donate financially. We need your financial support to continue to enrich the music programs.

Hinsdale Central kicked off the football season on Aug. 21, 2026, and our Marching Band was there to bring the music, energy, and school spirit! From the stands to the field, our student musicians helped make the first home game of the season a memorable night.

A big thank-you to all of the parent volunteers who helped behind the scenes. Football games are just one of the many ways Music Boosters supports our students throughout the year.

We look forward to another great season of music, teamwork, and Red Devil spirit!

Three Hinsdale Central music students recently participated in the MAHA Charity Concert at Chicago Symphony Center, an event celebrating America’s 250th anniversary while supporting Alzheimer’s awareness.

The students joined the final choral performance, helping bring the concert to a meaningful close while representing the spirit of service, community, and connection through music.

We are proud to see our students using their musical talents not only at school, but also to support important causes in the wider community.

Hinsdale Central's Chapter will have its first informational meeting soon.

• Tri-M is the only national honor society for student musicians with a focus in performance, leadership and service
• candidates must maintain an A average grade in music and at least a B average grade in other academic subjects
• participation is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors
• candidates must attend monthly meetings

All HCHS musicians and vocalists are invited to participate!

Excerpts for will be released September 17th. (HCHS is in District 1 and senior level)

Teachers will announce when individual audition videos are due.

Participation allows students to challenge themselves musically, work with outstanding conductors and peers from across Illinois, and gain recognition for their dedication and achievement in music.
