Update and Bittersweet Announcement
Dear Fenton Community and Families - Message of Gratitude and Transition
Hello WeAreFenton Families,
Many of you have most likely already heard this news, but I wanted to make sure you had notice as well. It is with a mix of emotions that I announce my upcoming retirement as Superintendent of Fenton Area Public Schools, effective June 30, 2025.
Serving as your Superintendent for the past 3 years has been an incredible honor and a deeply rewarding experience. I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity you have given me to lead our schools and to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate community.
When I first joined 15 years ago, I was inspired by the commitment of our teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and community members to provide the best possible education for our children. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the unwavering support you have shown for our students and our schools. Together, we have celebrated countless achievements, navigated challenges with resilience, and worked tirelessly to create a nurturing and enriching learning environment for every child.
I am immensely proud of the progress we have made together. From passing bond initiatives to strengthening the services and opportunities for our students, these accomplishments would not have been possible without the collaborative spirit and dedication of our entire community. It has been a privilege to witness the growth and success of our students, and I am confident that they will continue to thrive under the guidance of the talented individuals who make up our school district.
The decision to retire was not made lightly. However, I feel that now is the right time for me to embark on a new chapter in my life and to spend more time with my family. I will cherish the memories and relationships I have built during my time here, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for the students, families, and staff of Fenton.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your trust, your support, and your partnership in educating our children. It has been a privilege to serve you and to contribute to the future of our community.
Sincerely,
Heidie E. Ciesielski
Superintendent until June 30, 2025 😁

School Lunch Hero Day
Not All Heroes Wear Capes- School Lunch Hero Day is May 2nd!
Stop by any cafeteria to watch school nutrition professionals prepare healthy meals for students—all the while adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile—and you'll see they are true heroes!
This is the reason we celebrate School Lunch Hero Day every year on the first Friday in May. This annual observance is a chance to showcase what a difference school nutrition professionals make in the lives of every child who comes through the cafeteria.
