Grandview Elementary
Parent/ Family Update - July 17, 2026
September 11, 2026
From the Principal:
Dear Grandview Families,
It has been another great week at Grandview! As we continue settling into the school year, I am so proud of the way our students and staff are building strong routines, working hard, and showing Tiger PRIDE throughout the building.
This week, we have continued our focus on Respect—one of the important ways we show Tiger PRIDE every day. Respect can be seen in the way we listen to others, use kind words, take care of our school, follow expectations, and help others feel valued and included. These small choices make a big difference in creating a positive school community for everyone.
We also had a very successful High Attendance Day this week! Thank you to all of our families who worked to get students ready, out the door, and to school on time. Overall, Grandview had 96.41% attendance that day!
We are especially excited to celebrate 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, who each had perfect attendance and will receive a pizza party. Congratulations to those students and families!
Next week is Kentucky Safe Schools Week, and the Kentucky Center for School Safety is encouraging participation from students, staff, families, and community members. One way everyone can participate is by taking the official Safe Schools Pledge. The pledge is open to staff, students, parents/guardians, and community partners:
We also have several exciting events coming up, including Picture Day on September 15, a visit from The Scouts during lunch on September 16, and our GES Family Safety & Wellness Fair on September 17 at 6:00 PM. We hope many of our families will be able to join us!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are grateful to work alongside our families to help every Grandview Tiger feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Have a wonderful weekend, Tigers!
With gratitude,
Dr. Susan Short
