DCSC Construction Update

It's the month of love and friendship, but when it comes to our Master Campus Plan, it's the month of progress! We have seen a lot happening in both buildings over the last few weeks. Renovations, expansions, electrical work, and more...this month has had it all. The transformation is happening before our eyes, and the progress is remarkable.

Exciting progress continues on our classroom renovations! Backer boards have been installed, drywall is up, windows are being framed, and extensive overhead work is underway throughout the entire space. We’re one step closer to creating another improved learning environment for our students!

The high school has work happening all over the building, and it feels like new progress is made every single day! Below are a few of the bigger projects currently taking place.

• FRONT ENTRANCE AND CLASSROOM ADDITION: The front entrance/office space and new classroom addition now have walls up! Even better, the new classrooms are painted and have outlets installed, ready for new classroom tech.
• OLD POOL: Many people remember the old pool once located at the heart of the building. That space is now being transformed into new band and choir rooms, while the surrounding area will become a student commons and collaborative workspace. Construction recently began with the removal of the storefront windows behind the concrete bleachers, marking an exciting step forward in this transformation.
• ATHLETIC BUILDING: After careful outlining and framing, work has begun on the perimeter block walls on the new athletic building. This will bring shape to the structure.

Here is some drone footage of the project from outside. You can see nearly all aspects of the project from this perspective.

We are making progress on several phases of our project plan! Here is a brief overview of what is to come within the next year. Please note that all estimated completion dates are subject to change as construction continues.

Exciting things are happening at South Elementary, and we’re thrilled to share this project with our community! In this video, Mrs. Hollingsworth highlights the progress made during the first semester and offers a sneak peek at what’s ahead. As always, thank you for your support!
