Message from Nicole Pease, Principal
Good afternoon Happy Friday DCS families! It has been a busy week which makes vacation feel like a long time ago! We jumped right back into the routine of school and lots has been going on. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been working on the NHSAS writing test and I have been so impressed with how hard they are working to plan out their writing. We are holding our Kickoff for One School One Book this afternoon and your student(s) will be bringing home a copy of the book (thanks so much PTO)! This kickoff has been a community effort in great part due to Heather Fletcher's excitement for this event! Dublin School teacher (and parent) Dylan Pierpont along with his students created a backdrop for the skit. There will be a town wide scavenger hunt, about which more information will be coming. Thank you Heather for generating so much enthusiasm for reading this book at a whole community!
Have a great weekend, Nicole
One School One Book begins today!!!
We are so excited to begin our One School, One Book program! After keeping the kids in suspense all week as our set was taking shape in the gym, we are presenting "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" as our book this year. Your child(ren) is bringing home a copy that you may read at home nightly, (follow the schedule on the DCS calendar). The staff has recorded each chapter if it's easier for your family to watch it.
SCAVENGER HUNT!! Your DCS teachers have assembled a family-fun scavenger hunt around Dublin that goes along with The Mouse and the Motorcycle!!! We are super excited about this! The scavenger hunt will begin at DCS. Look for the sign outside that has a picture of a mouse and a motorcycle on it. You'll need to do a few things:
1. Take a picture of your child with the picture of the mouse.
2. Scan the QR code with your smartphone. (The students have practiced using QR
codes this week!) This will give you your next clue!!
3. When you find all 9 clues and have taken pictures at all locations, email the
pictures to your child's teacher. Each student who completes the scavenger hunt
and sends in the pictures will get a prize at the end of the program. We can't wait
to see the pictures roll in!!
Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions! This long weekend might be a fun time to try it out.
Thank you so much for your support with this program. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
