Neubert Elementary School
Family Newsletter | Week of April 6, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Neubert Families,
Spring Break is here! There is no school this week (March 30–April 3). This edition will serve as next week's edition (April 6) as there will be no edition for March 30. We hope your family enjoys this time to relax, recharge, and spend meaningful time together. If you celebrate Easter, I hope you have a wonderful one! Wishing you a day filled with joy and time with those you love. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on April 6!
As a reminder, Neubert has begun the important work of developing a new school mission and vision, and we would love your input! A school’s mission defines our purpose—why we exist and what we strive to accomplish each day—while our vision describes what we hope to become as a school community in the future. Together, they guide our decisions and ensure we are working toward a shared direction for all students.
Our staff has already provided feedback, and we will also be gathering input from our 4th and 5th grade students after spring break to ensure student voice is included. Now, we invite our families to share their thoughts! Please view the Mission & Vision section below and respond to the prompts—your voice is incredibly important in shaping the future of Neubert.
Families will also have the opportunity to vote on final mission and vision statements during Literacy Night on April 23. Thank you for your continued partnership!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home.
Your Partner in Education,
Ms. Nicole Bryan, Principal
Neubert Elementary School

Neubert Mission & Vision
We need YOUR voice, Neubert families! 🎉
We are creating a new mission and vision for our school, and this is your chance to help shape what Neubert stands for and where we’re headed!
Our mission defines our purpose, and our vision captures our hopes for the future - and together, they guide everything we do for our students. Staff have already shared their ideas, and now it’s your turn! The survey is quick, completely anonymous, and your honest feedback truly matters. The survey will close on April 15.
Plus, don’t forget, you’ll have the opportunity to vote on your favorite options at Literacy Night on April 23. Click the link or QR code below to share your thoughts and help us build the future of Neubert together!
Quick Tip: If viewing on your cell phone, press and hold the QR code above to save it to your photos. Find it in your photo library, and press and hold it. It should then give you a choice to open the survey in your preferred web browser.
Chromebook Care Reminders
Chromebook Care Reminder for Families
We’ve recently seen an increase in Chromebook damage at school, including cracked screens, missing keys, and broken headphone plugs stuck in ports. We want to partner with you to help students take care of these important learning tools.
Please remind your child that their Chromebook is provided for learning purposes only and should be handled with care at all times. Devices should be carried safely, kept away from food and drinks, and protected from rough handling or extreme temperatures.
Families are responsible for ensuring devices are used appropriately at home and for discussing safe and responsible technology use, including not sharing passwords or personal information.
While the district technology fee covers many types of accidental damage, it does not cover damage caused by negligence, misuse, vandalism, or failure to follow care guidelines. Repeated or non-covered damage may result in repair or full replacement costs for families. More information can be found on page 34 of the D300 Parent Handbook.
If a device is damaged or not working properly, please report it to the school right away so we can support next steps.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students take care of their devices and stay focused on learning!
April: Autism Acceptance Month
April: Arab American Heritage Month
April is Arab American Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Arab Americans to our communities and country. It is also an opportunity for families to learn more about the diverse traditions, languages, foods, and stories that make up Arab American culture. By engaging in meaningful conversations and experiences at home, we can continue to build understanding, appreciation, and respect for all cultures.
Families can honor Arab American Heritage Month in a variety of simple and meaningful ways:
- Read a children’s book that features Arab American characters or is written by an Arab American author
- Explore traditional foods by cooking or trying a new recipe together (such as hummus, falafel, or pita bread)
- Listen to Arabic music or watch a family-friendly video that highlights Arab culture
- Learn a few words or phrases in Arabic and practice using them together
- Talk as a family about the importance of diversity, inclusion, and respecting different cultures
- Create art inspired by traditional Arab patterns or designs
- Research and share stories about notable Arab American leaders, artists, scientists, or athletes
By taking part in these activities, families can help foster curiosity, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for the many cultures that make up our community.
One School, One Book
We are excited to kick off our One School, One Book program at Neubert! On April 6, students will participate in a fun, staff-planned assembly where we will officially reveal this year’s book. That same day, the oldest student (or only student) in each family will bring home a copy of Fenway and Hattie to enjoy together.
As you read along at home, we encourage you to use our OSOB interactive Book Creator available on the NES Student Schoology page, where you can listen to special guest readers bring the story to life!
Be sure to also save the date for our upcoming Literacy Night on April 23 from 5:30-7:00 PM - we can’t wait to celebrate reading together as a school community. More information will be shared soon!

The Royal Broom Competition
Congratulations to Mr. Wiese's Class!
They are the winners of our Royal Broom Award for keeping the cleanest classroom the entire week of March 16! Our night custodians crowned them champions, and their room sparkled the brightest. ✨The Royal Broom competition runs all year long, so who will sweep up the honor next week? 🧹
March's Perfect Attendance Award
We’re excited to share this month’s Perfect Attendance Reward! Students who have perfect attendance in March will earn a free kids meal at Chick-Fil-A! Let’s keep up the great attendance and enjoy some fun rewards!
Lost and Found
Updated 03/30/26
Our Lost & Found is officially bursting at the seams! We’ve got jackets, hoodies, snow pants, LOTS of hats and gloves… and even some lonely gloves still searching for their missing match 👀🧤 If your child has been “missing” something, chances are it’s hanging out here waiting to be rescued!
To help lost items make a quicker reunion in the future, we encourage families to write students’ names on their belongings. A name goes a long way in helping us return items faster. Thank you for helping keep our Lost & Found from growing! 😊
Neubert Spirit Wear Days
Regularly scheduled spirit days will continue in May for the end of the year countdown. Continue to wear your Neubert gear on Fridays to show your school spirit!
During the week of April 13-April 17, we encourage our Neubert Knights to participate in a Spirit Week in honor of Autism Acceptance Month!
- Monday, 4/13: Celebrate our growing understanding and empathy by wearing mismatched shoes or socks to school!
- Tuesday, 4/14: All brains are different, and that’s amazing! Celebrate your unique mind by wearing a fun hat!
- Wednesday, 4/15: No matter how you express yourself, your message matters! Wear shirts with words/messages OR visuals/symbols to celebrate the many ways we communicate and connect with one another.
- Thursday, 4/16: The Autistic community uses a gold or rainbow infinity symbol to highlight neurodiversity, acceptance, and infinite potential. Show your support for Autistic people in our school and community by wearing gold, rainbow/tie-dye, or an Autism acceptance shirt!
- Friday, 4/17: Autistic people often have sensory sensitivities that can make some clothing feel very uncomfortable. Today, wear your most comfy clothes or pajamas so you can feel good all day!
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a team of passionate parents and staff who work together to make Neubert an even better place to learn and grow. From planning fun family events to supporting teachers and students, the PTO helps build the strong, connected community our kids deserve. Stay tuned for ways to get involved!
