From the Principal From the Principal

Hi TC Community, and happy Thursday!

Though this is a short week here on campus, students and teachers alike have been moving and grooving with their learning. I loved popping into 3rd grade to see students learning about graphs and the information we can gather from them. In 2nd grade, students are deep into learning about money and working hard to count and combine different coins. Buddy classes are also going strong—this week, some of our 4th graders partnered with their 2nd grade buddies to support editing their writing. Great things are happening across campus—check out the photos below!

Tonight wraps up our final tour for prospective families. A huge thank you to the volunteers who have helped shine a light on our program and support new families as they explore schools for next year.

And finally, if you haven’t yet, be sure to take a look at the calendar below for all the great events coming up in the next couple of weeks—and the many opportunities to get involved and volunteer.

With a Smile,
Brandee

Parent Sponsored Ultimate Frisbee Interest Survey

A committed group of adults is pulling together the details for TC 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Ultimate Frisbee teams this Spring. We plan to hold practices once per week at the Thornton Creek field; games will be on Saturdays starting March 7 through May 9. Ultimate is a wonderful sport that has an incredible spirit of the game creating a welcoming and inclusive opportunity for all.

Please express your child’s interest in playing with this survey by January 30. We hope to accommodate all, but please recognize that if interest is high enough we’ll need additional coaching support and may run into field space issues. Elementary teams are composed of a mixed-gender team of five players on the field with minimum two girls playing at all times. If you are willing to help coach this season, please indicate that in the survey.

  • An application to a Choice School does not guarantee an assignment.

  • Families new to SPS will be able to submit their School Choice request with their registration.
