This Week at GLOBE

Key dates:

December 17: Winter Chorus Concert, 6pm, UC.

December 19: Early Release, LC: 11:30am, UC: 12pm / Winter Break.

January 6: First day of 2nd semester.

Dear parents/guardians,

As we approach the end of the first semester, I would like to thank you for your continued partnership.

I continue to be so proud of our students for their efforts and achievements. Our teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide engaging lessons and keep our school running smoothly. I would like to thank them all for their hard work and dedication.

During the past couple of weeks we have seen some lovely performances by our band and orchestra, concluding this-evening with a winter concert by GLOBE’s Chorus at Upper Campus.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our many fundraising events in 2025. These would not be possible without the assistance of our wonderful volunteers and organizers who afford so much of their own time, care and attention to bring our celebrations of cultures and languages to life in such a positive way for our students.

On behalf of GLOBE, we wish you a joyful holiday season and look forward to welcoming our students back to campus on Tuesday, January 6.

Happy holidays!

Christi Elliott-Earby

Executive Director

A reminder that Friday, December 19, is an early release day for ALL students - including those who usually attend aftercare. Dismissal will begin at 11:30am at LC, and 12pm at UC.

It is cold and flu season again. Flu A (H3N2) is circulating on campus. This strain does not match the ‘25-’26 flu shot, which is why it is so severe. Symptoms are rapid onset, and include a headache, nausea/vomiting, and a sudden high fever. If your student is showing any of these symptoms please keep them at home. Please also make sure that we can reach you in the event that your child becomes ill.

8th grade Podcast Project

Students in 8th grade recently created a website that contains podcasts they created about a social issue, central idea, or theme in their book club book. They did an awesome job!

Please have a listen and celebrate their hard work. A big shout out to Gaelle Addison-Wilson, Joshua Dixon, Mason Johnson, Samuel Deneke, Zahai Williams, Anderson Gomez-Perez, and Rowan Wade. They did an awesome job setting up the website in a limited amount of time!

Food Drive Success!

The Impact Owls Community Service class completed their food donation drive to restock the Shallowford Food Pantry at Shallowford Presbyterian Church.

Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who stopped by to donate over the past month to help others in our community overcome food insecurity. Your involvement not only helped stock the pantry for families in need during the holiday season but also demonstrates the spirit of generosity and community that defines our school. We look forward to having a food drive at Lower Campus in the spring!

The latest episode, produced by GLOBE's 8th grade Leadership Class, can be viewed here.
