Swim A Thon...The Last Lap!
We are only 1 day away from wrapping up NOVA’s annual Swim A Thon.
100 % of funds donated for the Swim A Thon count towards your fundraising obligation
First year families (all levels of swimmers) - $100/swimmer
Families with Novice Swimmers - $125/swimmer
Families with Age Group development Bronze and higher level swimmers - $225/swimmer
All families are capped at a maximum of $450 in fundraising obligation
Unmet fundraising obligations are billed in July. To avoid this, check your fundraising balance on Team Unify and donate to the Swim A Thon.
So far 48% of our swimmers have logged donations for the Swim a Thon. If you have not yet done so, please visit the Team Unify site and click on the Swim A Thon banner. Click HERE and you can quickly and easily make an online donation and complete your fundraising! You can also drop off a check, and in the memo line include Swim A Thon.
$17,855 left to meet the goal of $110,000. We can do it if everyone participates! Friday it would be great to see a HUGE number on the SAT lane line!
Thanks, Julie Farney

Spring Signing Day
Wednesday May 7th, NOVA celebrated our high school Seniors who have made their official commitment to a college or university. These athletes may have verbally committed during their junior year, but signing made it official. This is a day where athletes from many sports commit to continue their athletic and academic pursuits. NOVA congratulates the following seniors:
Ortho Virginia's Practice Performer Of The Week
13 and over PPOW
Our 13 and over PPOW is Senior Silver's Aaron Cook. Aaron has come to every practice with a great attitude and an attention to detail,. He attacks every set with a desire to improve especially his long course backstroke. Keep up the hard work Aaron!
12 and under PPOW
ADGB is proud to present Rosie McCann with this week’s 12 and under PPOW. Rosie has been crushing it at practice. She consistently shows up and gives each set her best effort. Not only making herself better, but those around her. She has an incredible work ethic that has set the standard for AGDB. Keep up the great work Rosie!!.!
Coaches Appreciation Week
At NOVA, we have the hardest working coaches whose dedication and talent make NOVA great and help NOVA swimmers excel at all levels. While we hope that swimmers and their families recognize this and thank their coaches on a regular basis, we are asking you to join us in honoring the NOVA coaches during Coaches Appreciation Week May 11th-17th.
This is a time for swimmers and families to celebrate NOVA’s exceptional coaches and their contributions to our team. A note expressing your thanks, a small token or gift card to your coaches’ favorite restaurant or shop, or simply an enthusiastic “Thanks Coach!” are just a few examples of how you can let your coaches know how much you appreciate them!
For a list of your coaches’ likes/preferences, see your Group Parent Representative.

Coach's Award
This is the highest honor the coaching staff gives to our swimmers. A Swimmer who routinely shows a level of dedication to the sport and NOVA that makes her or him a leader among peers, and to younger swimmers. He or she demonstrates excellence and discipline in both practice and competition, inspires excitement, and helps foster a love for the sport that the coaching staff looks to instill in all NOVA athletes.

Carson Brewer Award
On January 14th, 2020 NOVA lost a valued team member, loving brother, and cherished son. Carson is remembered by those who knew, loved, and coached him as not only a dedicated, hardworking, and disciplined swimmer, but also a tremendous teammate. Whether it was a meet or an ordinary day of practice, Carson showered those around him with support and positive energy. He was most often found behind a lane, cheering on his NOVA teammates with a huge smile on his face. The Carson M. Brewer Coaches Award was created to honor these noble qualities and inspire future 12 and Under swimmers to be devoted athletes, loyal friends, and unwavering teammates.
