Staff Shoutouts

Can not thank everyone for all that they do but I want to take time for a few shoutouts!

  • Michelle Gray, Austin Bilstein, & Steve Stewart - Thank you for helping with the clean-up after the fun the PK-12 had for the book fair! It got a little more messy than anticipated but thank you for your understanding and getting all back to normal. You are appreciated!

  • Camille Schultz - Thank you for all you do on our elementary side of secretary duties! You do an amazing job at making sure all is taken care in a timely manner and help wherever you can!

  • Darrol Gray - Thank you for not only helping driving the bus but thank you for always replenishing our concessions at the end of each week! We have been going through quite a bit of product because of our Sunday league but we appreciate the time and dedication you give!

New Water Fountains

Big A** Fan...seriously, that is the companies name! This will go in our ag shop as well which will help distribute our fog and also our temperature! This will be paid for with ESSER II funds.
zoom_out_map

Smart Fog Machine

With our ESSER II funds, we are going to be able to purchase a smart fog machine that will help raise the humidity levels in our welding/wood and ag shop. We are currently at 8% and this will help us get to the normal of 30% while insuring our metal doesn't rust as this is a very fine mist.

Update

Recap of the Week!

Another great week in the books and another great day to be a HUSKY!!! 💛 🖤 🐾
zoom_out_map

A new addition that will be going up in our activities hallway!

Terry Fusco’s family dedicated a memorial in his honor to Shelby-Rising City Public Schools in the form of a Husky. This is a very generous act that will serve as a focal point as students, staff and community members enter our facilities. Terry began his career in education at Shelby schools as a K-12 PE teacher, 9-12 Physical Science teacher, Drivers Ed instructor, football, basketball and track coach, Activities Director, and Elementary Principal, retiring in 2004. He then took a job as Administrative Consultant of Reading First for the State of Nebraska. He was a dedicated man and as his wife, Marie said, “You could find him in two spots; either at home or at the school because he loved being at the school helping whoever and however, he could.” Thank you to the Fusco family!

From Left to Right: Tucker Tejkl, Mark Fusco, Jeff Kuhnel, Becky Trotter, Steve Fusco, Marie Fusco and Geoff Ruth

FBLA

Many FBLA members are wearing green or brown attire today to help encourage others to be more environmentally friendly and more conscious of trying to embrace a low waste lifestyle! This is part of our "Go Green" ribbon project activities in which we also participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program as well as carry out other minor activities that deal with going green.

Message from Mr. Tejkl

"Don't live with the problem..."

Good evening!

I hope everyone had a great extended weekend! Congratulations to all of our activities who were in action this weekend as well! We had speech rolling to a 2nd place finish in both novice and varsity. Boys basketball split their Thursday and Friday games and our SRC Wrestlers represented in Omaha with Grady & Justin bringing home medals! It is a great day to be a Husky and I want us to continue to build on our success for the future and the participants!

As we enter the last week of February, it's important not to forget that we all have problems that we have or that can sneak up on us. Life is a crazy with many up and downs. Don't let problems be burdens on your mind that will then dictate your mood or attitude. We may not be able to solve all of our problems but that doesn't mean we have to dwell on it. Leave it and move on.

Also: Friendly reminder that asking others for help can cause solutions to appear as well! Have a great rest of your week!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

"Solve the problem, or leave the problem. Do not live with the problem."

Sincerely,

Tucker Tejkl

THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to our change war winners: 2B and Trofholz. Including community donations, we have raised over $4000 to get books into our classrooms, library, and the hands of our students.

Thank you for your overwhelming support! We had multiple business and people contribute to our cause!

Positive case by test or symptoms --- out for 5 days & can come back to school on day 6 - a mask is required until day 10.

Close contact --- continue to look for symptoms, mask recommended but not required; no quarantine required.

Thank you for your flexibility with this evolving situation. We continue to put the safety of our students and staff as our #1 priority. If you have any questions, comments or concerns; please contact Mr. Tejkl on his office phone or through email.
