BULLDOG BULLETIN
September 5, 2025
Dear Bulldog Families,
I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! In the most recent issue of Chicago Magazine, Sarah Adams Elementary School was recognized as one of the Best Elementary Schools in Lake County! This is an incredible honor and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and partnership that make our school community so special.
I could not be prouder to serve this community. Each day, I am inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of our students, motivated by the trust and collaboration of our families, and grateful to work alongside such a talented and caring staff. It is through this shared commitment that Sarah Adams continues to thrive.
I firmly believe that strong schools are built on strong home-school partnerships. Our success is not just about what happens within the walls of our building, but also about the support, encouragement, and involvement that our families provide at home and in our community. Together, we have created a learning environment where students are encouraged to grow, achieve, and become their very best.
Thank you for everything you do to support Sarah Adams. This recognition belongs to all of us, and I am excited to continue our journey together as we build on this momentum!
With pride and gratitude,
Dr. Colleen Conway
New procedures in our Vestibule π
As an extra layer of safety, and to help keep our office less congested, we have moved our student check-in/check-out system to our vestibule. You may use the chromebook there to sign your child in/out.
IMPORTANT: When your child leaves, they must exit through the main office, and not go straight through the vestibule. There are stop signs up to remind students, but we ask that you also help direct your child(ren) where to go. We ask that students leave through the main office, so we know they are safely exiting the building. Thank you for your support with this new procedure!
π¨ Arrival and Dismissal Important Informationπ¨
General Reminders:
- All car riders can be dropped off in the front of the building; parents/guardians must stay in the vehicle so that the line moves quickly.
- Parking in our lots are reserved for staff or students with needs. If you need to park, you can park and walk from Staples Park or near a side street.
- Car riders and walkers will line up in the front of the building (see the slides for where to line up).
- Busers and day care students will line up in the back of the building.
- Students can be dropped off no earlier than 7:55. Doors open at 8:05. School starts at 8:15. Please have your child at school by 8:10 to ensure they have time to get into the building, find their classroom, and can unpack belongings before the day begins.
- School is dismissed at 2:50; Kindergarten students will be dismissed first so that they can easily find their adult.
- Parents/guardians using the pick up lanes must stay in their vehicles at all times.
- Drivers in the pick up lane must pull ahead to help the flow of traffic.
- Busers and daycare students will be dismissed out of the back doors, where they entered.
Thank you, again, for taking the time to view our drop off and pick up procedures, so we can ensure all students, staff, and families are safe!
Office Communications π±
If your child has a different way of going home, other than their originally planned routine, we ask that you please let both the classroom teacher and the main office know as soon as possible. This thorough communication helps us ensure your child goes where they need to be at a busy time in the day. You can contact our main office 847.438.5986 or email SAAttendance@lz95.org.

Resources for Families
There are times when families may need additional financial assistance - such as after a job loss or a death in the family. Through our relationships with generous community partners, District 95 has the ability to cover the costs of a wide range of family needs - including utility bills, groceries, clothing, gas, medical or mental health costs, and more.
Families in need can reach out to a member of the Student Services team (i.e., social worker, school psychologist, counselor) or an administrator at school for additional information. Families may also contact the Student Services Department directly at 847.540.7060 (or by emailing Gaby Mascote, gaby.mascote@lz95.org). We know that there are certain situations that can make it incredibly difficult for families to navigate, and we are here to assist!
Stay in touch with our PTO!
Health Information: Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease
As a system, we have been notified of several cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) district-wide in the first few weeks of school. While this virus is more common in younger students, it can be transmitted to older students and adults. Families can find more information about symptoms, what to do if you suspect your student has HFMD, and care by clicking HERE.
Visitor Safety Reminders
As we welcome students, families, and other visitors back to school buildings this school year, we wanted to take a moment to share some important safety reminders:
All visitors must have an appointment in order to enter school district buildings (which includes the Administrative building); our front office staff are happy to help facilitate making an appointment if you need assistance (NOTE: this does not apply to quick drop-offs in the vestibule, such as when a student forgets an item)
All visitors must present a form of identification and go through our visitor screening process for all visits that require entry into the school building; all visitors must also wear a lanyard or visitor badge provided to them for their entire visit
Visitors are asked not to hold doors open for others when entering or exiting the building during the school day, as these well-intentioned actions are not in alignment with our security protocols
Thank you for your partnership on these items; we look forward to another successful school year where we all work together to maximize feelings of safety within our district buildings!
