Good Monday Morning Families!
Where is the month going? Suddenly we are halfway through December. I hope that this past weekend was enjoyable and restful. I am hoping to get onto the ski slopes soon but the warmer weather has not been especially compatible with good skiing- not that I am complaining. There are some real benefits to warmer weather in December.
If you have not had an opportunity to view your child’s report card yet, please take the time to log into Powerschool and do so. The directions are at the bottom of this newsletter. Your child’s progress is incredibly important to us and we hope to partner with each of you to ensure that your child is constantly moving forward at a pace that is appropriate for him/her. If you have any questions after viewing the report card, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
I would like to take a moment to issue a heartfelt thank you to our parent community. The cookies and treats provided on Friday were a huge boost to our spirits and brought a smile to everyone’s faces. Thank you to the PTO for organizing the event, and we are so grateful to have such a supportive community here at Memorial.
And finally, I know we all have COVID fatigue. I certainly do. Thank you for continuing to be mindful about keeping your children home when they have COVID-like symptoms. It is easy to brush things off, especially now that many of our little ones are getting vaccinated. We have seen an upswing in cases across the school since Thanksgiving, so being aware of the signs and symptoms and getting tested when those symptoms are present is our best defense against in school spread. We truly appreciate everyone’s continued patience and kindness when Mrs. Ryan has to call you. It is not a phone call she enjoys making and hopefully sometime soon this will be a thing of the past.
