A MESSAGE FROM HINESBURG NURSERY SCHOOL A MESSAGE FROM HINESBURG NURSERY SCHOOL

The Hinesburg Nursery School (located adjacent to HCS) started school this week. We ask that you please help us keep our parking lot safe and accessible for our families. We kindly ask that you do not park in the nursery school–designated spots and that everyone follows the parking times posted on the signs. Your cooperation ensures that drop-off and pick-up run smoothly for all. Thank you!

MUSIC NEWS FROM MR SMITH MUSIC NEWS FROM MR SMITH

I am thrilled to be joining the faculty at HCS this year as the instrumental music teacher. I have had the pleasure of being in our district since 1997 working at both WCS and CCS.

At HCS we will be offering Advance Band for 7th and 8th graders. This ensemble will meet twice a week for 35 minutes and have a weekly small group lesson.

The Intermediate Band for 6th graders and the Beginning Band for 5th graders will have one full group rehearsal per week and one small group lesson.

Jazz Band will be available for any 6th - 8th grader who wishes to participate. We will meet once a week. Students can sign up for Jazz Band when the ensembles begin their first rehearsals. They simply have to let me know their intentions and I will include them on the roster.

All ensembles and lesson groups will meet during the regularly scheduled school day. Rehearsals and lessons will begin the week of 9/8/25.

A survey was sent to all incoming fifth grade families last spring to sign up for band. If you missed the survey and would like your child to participate in the Beginning Band, please email me at asmith@cvsdvt.org and let me know. All new 5th grade band member families will receive an email from me in the next week detailing how to obtain an instrument.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at asmith@cvsdvt.org or (802) 482 - 6233.

I look forward to a wonderful year in music!

Thank you!

Andy Smith

RIDE THE LATE BUS RIDE THE LATE BUS

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

Any HCS student who participates in after school clubs, activities or athletics is able to take the late bus home any day of the week, except Wednesday.

We announce the late bus over the intercom at 4:15 and 4:20 and the bus leaves no later than 4:30. Depending on the day, the number of late buses and the number of riders, the late bus could deliver students to their destination anytime between 4:30 and 6:00. Unfortunaltey there is no way to tell how long the ride will be or what the route will be for the day until we see how many students show up at 4:15. Staff are not in the office after 4:30 and will not be able to contact the late bus driver after this time. You do not need to let the office know if your child will ride the late bus - they can show up at 4:15. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

CVSD reminds all faculty, staff, parents, caregivers, students, and community members of the requirements of our Code of Conduct to behave in a respectful manner.

Safe working environments are the top priorities for all school meetings/activities. Any violation of the Code of Conduct will result in reminders and redirection of conversation and meeting stoppages up to and including removal of those individuals from the meeting.

Let’s work together to ensure a positive, supportive, and healthy learning environment for everyone involved!
