Mr. Moore

This week, your learners will be taking their dividing fractions test. It is important that all class assignments are completed on time, including their iReady lessons in order that they have given themselves enough time to practice and get answers wrong. Yes, wrong, so they can problem solve and figure out their mistakes. Better to make those mistakes now than on testing day.

Ms. Whitney

I Ready Math Program:

We encourage your student to engage with the I Ready program for math. This

valuable resource helps to meet our students where they are, providing tailored

support for their growth and understanding. It allows us to assist more students

effectively.

Mid-Unit Assessment:

Please note that our Accelerated students will have a Mid-Unit assessment on

Linear Equations on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. After this assessment, we will

transition to working with Inequalities, where we will continue to apply algebraic

concepts to enhance our understanding of word problems.

General 7th Grade Math:

Our General 7th Grade students have been diligently working with decimals and

fractions as they relate to percents. Upcoming lessons will focus on practical

applications involving tax, tip, commission, and simple interest.

Celebrations from the Week:

We are thrilled to share that the results from I Ready have been promising! Our

students have shown remarkable progress in both Accelerated and General Math

classes. Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable, and we celebrate their

achievements together!

Additional Information:

As we move forward, please ensure your student is utilizing the I Ready platform

regularly. This consistent practice will greatly benefit their mathematical understanding

and confidence.

We are grateful for the strong partnership we have with you, our families. Your

involvement and support play an essential role in your child’s learning journey.

iReady in ELA and math will be graded based on work completed Monday - Friday going forward. Time and lessons completed on Saturday and/or Sunday will not count toward their iReady classwork grades.

Please encourage your students to complete their classwork at school. The goal is for students to not have much homework and to use their classroom instructional time efficiently. This should also help decrease the number of missing assignments students have in PowerSchool.
