A Message From Mrs. Lucas, BHS Principal
Hello Bobcats Families,
Today’s message includes our weekly reminders as well as information regarding senior final exams schedule, Mental Health Awareness, underclassmen final exams and last day of school information.
Accessing and Reviewing ParentVUE
ParentVUE is our go-to portal for checking grades, attendance, and school updates. We encourage you to take a look regularly so you can celebrate progress and stay on top of anything that may need attention. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s current academic progress, please reach out to the teacher(s) so we can partner with you to support your student.
Khan Academy
We invite students to use Khan Academy to build confidence and sharpen their skills in reading, writing, and math. This free resource is available to all PWCS students and is a great way to get in a little extra practice at home. There is still time to use it before school ends on June 12.
Plan for Underclassmen on Graduation Day
This year our graduation will occur on Friday, May 29 at 9:30 a.m. and will involve all teachers and staff. As a result, underclassmen will be asynchronous that day. Teachers will post, via Canvas, activities for these students.
Underclassmen Final Exams and Last Day of School for Students
Underclassmen final exams will begin on Tuesday, June 9. The final exam bell schedule will be shared as well. This is a reminder that the last day of school is June 12. High school students will be released at 10:00 a.m. and there will be no lunch provided.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Senior Laptop Collection
Collection for senior laptops will begin on May 18th. All seniors will bring their school issued laptops to the library upon completion of their final exams. Laptops must be turned in by Friday, May 22nd. Please reach out to Kendall Tolson (tolsonkm@pwcs.edu) with any questions or concerns.
Here are some tips to help you before returning your laptop:
- You will lose access to your PWCS account on June 30th, so make sure all files are saved to a personal OneDrive account or a flash drive
- When returning, make sure your laptop is charged and logged out/on the login screen
- If you have misplaced or broken your laptop, please stop by the library before collection begins
- It is extremely helpful for us if any personal stickers/decals are removed beforehand, AND if there is anything icky on the laptop, we would appreciate if it is cleaned off before being returned as well!

Register here to attend live or receive the recording.
SAT Dates: June 6
Khan Academy Free Access via the PWCS Portal for Students
All students in grades 9–12 now have access to Khan Academy through the PWCS Portal, powered by ClassLink. This learning platform offers personalized tools, instructional videos, and practice assessments designed to support academic success—especially in preparation for the PSAT and SAT.
Getting Started Is Easy:
Log in using your PWCS username and password (do not include “@pwcs-edu.org”).
Click the Khan Academy icon to launch the app and begin exploring resources.
Khan Academy is highly recommended for students preparing for standardized tests. Its content is aligned with College Board standards offering targeted practice to help students build confidence and improve performance. The most commonly used SAT preparation courses include:
SAT: Math
SAT: Reading and Writing
These courses are selected because they reflect the core sections of the SAT exam. Khan Academy’s SAT Math course covers algebra, problem-solving, data analysis, and advanced math topics. The Reading and Writing course focuses on grammar, vocabulary in context, and evidence-based reading comprehension, all essential skills for the SAT.
To access the SAT Prep courses, click on the “Courses” menu located at the top of the screen. Scroll down and select “Test Prep” from the list of available subjects. Under the Test Prep section, this where you’ll find the two main course options: “SAT Math” and “SAT Reading and Writing.” These courses are designed in partnership with the College Board and provide targeted practice aligned with the actual SAT exam format.
PWCS encourages all high school students to take advantage of this district provided resource to support their learning and college readiness.
