Haslett Voices Podcast
Haslett Voices brings you unscripted conversations with the students, teachers, staff, and community members who make Haslett Public Schools strong.
Hosted by Superintendent Patrick Malley, these conversations explore learning, leadership, the work happening in our schools, and what it means to be part of the Haslett community. No scripts, no rehearsals—just real stories from real people who call Haslett home.
The first episode aired on November 4, 2025: Student Voice & Leadership with Xavier
D.A.R.E. Program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
Salmon in the Classroom
The Foundation for Haslett Schools awarded a grant to Ms. Humanchuk, third grade teacher at Ralya, to fund the "Salmon in the Classroom" Project. Eggs should be hatching soon and students are very excited to observe the changes!
Teacher of the Week: Jill Batten
WILX has awarded Jill Batten as their Teacher of the Week. Congratulations Mrs. Batten.
New Playground AAC Boards
You may have noticed that we have new AAC boards for both Ralya and Murphy Elementary playgrounds! AAC stands for Augmentative and/or Alternative Communication. The purpose of an AAC playground board is to promote inclusive play by providing a tool for all children to communicate and socialize, regardless of their verbal abilities. Funding was provided by our Haslett Special Education Program, and the boards were created by the Michigan non-profit company Project Jade (Projectjade.org). Our buildings and grounds crew were gracious enough to install them this fall. Soon, Wilkshire will also receive one on their playground.

The Month of Giving: Supporting our Community
The month of November is traditionally a time of giving, and this year, the needs of our neighbors are especially prominent. The families of Haslett Public Schools have a proud history of stepping up to support our local Haslett Food Pantry, and there are many ways we can help.
Haslett Food Pantry Needs and Contact
The Haslett Food Pantry currently averages assisting 55 local families with monthly food assistance. Just in October this number is up 35%.
