Dear Parents and Carers,

As the academic year draws to a close, we're thrilled to share some highlights and express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year so memorable. It's been a year packed with learning, laughter, and community spirit!

The warmer weather brought with it some incredibly fun (and refreshing!) activities. The water activities were a huge hit, providing a fantastic way for everyone to cool down and enjoy some playful competition. We saw some truly impressive aim and a lot of happy, soggy children!

We also cherished our winning team picnic, which offered a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to relax, share food, and simply enjoy each other's company outside of the usual classroom setting.

This morning, we dedicated time to a special Gratitude Worship service, focusing on the incredible support we've received from local businesses. We want to extend our sincerest thanks to all the community partners who have helped and supported us throughout the year. Your generosity, resources, and unwavering commitment have been invaluable and have made a real difference to our students' experiences. We are so fortunate to be part of such a supportive community!

Our Year 5 and 6 students truly shone in their end-of-year production! Their hard work, talent, and dedication resulted in a spectacular show that entertained and impressed us all. We're incredibly proud of their achievements.

The traditional Leaver's Service at St. Mary's Church this afternoon was a poignant and beautiful occasion, marking the end of an important chapter for our Year 6 students. It was a time for reflection, appreciation, and well wishes as they prepare for their next adventures. We wish them all the very best and look forward to hearing about their successes from our high school colleagues.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome back two familiar faces this year! Elliot and Isla, former students, spent some time with us undertaking work experience. It was wonderful to see how much they've grown and developed, and to have their energy and enthusiasm back in the school halls. We loved having them as part of our team again, and they provided invaluable support and inspiration.

While we're celebrating a bustling and successful year, we also feel a touch of sadness as we say goodbye to some of our beloved staff members. We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Mr. Priory, Miss Jones, and Mrs. Mayhew. You have all made such a significant impact on our school community, and you will be greatly missed. We wish you all the very best in your new adventures!

As we look forward to a restful summer break, we extend our best wishes to all our students and their families. We can't wait to see what the next academic year brings!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mel Walmsley

As some of you may know, we've recently transitioned to a new committee, and we've had a few hiccups with transferring ownership of our old page. To make sure we can continue keeping you updated and connected, we've created a new page as the official space to keep up to date and connected with you all. Friends of Kirk Fenton Facebook

Summer Reading Challenge

Get close to nature with the Summer Reading Challenge 2025!
Children can once again sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at their local library during the holidays. This year the theme is Story Garden and is all about firing up imagination through the power of reading and creative expression.
The challenge for children is to read 6 library books of their choice. They will be able to collect special stickers and prizes along the way – everyone who finishes will receive a medal and a certificate. Any child aged 4 to 11 can join in and the challenge runs from Saturday 12th July until Saturday 6th September.
There will also be a fantastic programme of activities in libraries all summer, many of them free, to go with the challenge – families can find out what’s happening locally by contacting their library, on local library Facebook pages and on our webpages: Summer Reading Challenge | North Yorkshire Council
