Hurricane Maria Fundraiser
Michigan Virtual Student Helping Puerto Rico
MV Leadership Student Exceeds Goal - Continues to Reach Out
I have decided to do a fundraiser for Puerto Rican Hurricane Victims.
On September 20th, 2017 a hurricane destroyed much of the island of Puerto Rico. The hurricane took out all power on the island and left the majority of people without food, water, and access to communications. Even though it has been months since the storm, there are still so many people in need. Many people are still without power, food, clean drinking water, medicine, and shelter.
Puerto Rico is part of the United States but is not getting as much help from the government as it needs. I believe it is my job to help those who are in need, and I hope that others feel the same way.
I started a Pay it Forward for Puerto Rico fundraiser and have so far raised $563. My page is in collaboration with the Hispanic Federation so contributions go directly to helping the people of Puerto Rico.
I ran a fundraiser at school and have used social media to collect donations. Any size donation contributes to this great cause and would be greatly appreciated. The donation page link is located below:

Each project is unique and has either an outreach at the local, state, national or international levels. Each one is amazing and meaningful for those who participate and for those on the receiving end!
Ella, from Plainwell High School, launched this project. She reached her goal. Let's see if we can help her exceed this goal!!
Thank you!
