Innovative School Design Updates Innovative School Design Updates

As part of our innovative school work, we use prototyping to try out new ideas. Next week, you might hear about a new system of passes being “tried out” in every classroom. There is a new and improved Woodside pass which is used any time a student needs to leave the classroom and travel to a different location. The goal is to make sure that all campus monitors and staff know why a student is out of class and for what length of time. We’ll be seeking feedback from staff and students before we finalize the passes for this year!

As Woodside’s innovative school facilitator and member of the design team, I am always eager to connect with the community. If you have any thoughts or ideas to share, I’d love to hear from you. To arrange a time to talk, please email Deanna Victor at dvictor@sanjuan.edu.

CAASPP Notification CAASPP Notification

Each spring, students participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).

Depending on your child’s grade, they will take the following tests:

  • Students in Grades 5, 8, and 11 will take a science test

The computer-based tests measure what your child knows and can do.

To learn more about the CAASPP system, go to the California Department of Education Parent

Guides to Understanding webpage at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ca/parentguidetounderstand.asp

You can become familiar with the testing format and the different types of test questions by looking at the practice or training tests at:

Why it matters:
CAASPP tests are given statewide. They provide an opportunity to measure the skills of all students against the same academic standards, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation. The results provide information that schools can use to improve teaching and learning and ensure students graduate college and career-ready.
