Innovative School Design Updates
As part of our innovative school work, we use prototyping to try out new ideas. Next week, you might hear about a new system of passes being “tried out” in every classroom. There is a new and improved Woodside pass which is used any time a student needs to leave the classroom and travel to a different location. The goal is to make sure that all campus monitors and staff know why a student is out of class and for what length of time. We’ll be seeking feedback from staff and students before we finalize the passes for this year!
As Woodside’s innovative school facilitator and member of the design team, I am always eager to connect with the community. If you have any thoughts or ideas to share, I’d love to hear from you. To arrange a time to talk, please email Deanna Victor at dvictor@sanjuan.edu.
Clubs
There is not much change to our Clubs schedule for Trimester 3. Our Lunch Clubs remain: Student Senate & Latin X on Tuesdays, Glee Club on Wednesdays, Diversity Club and Design Club on Thursdays.
Starting Monday, we have added our Middle School Track practice to our After School Clubs. Track will practice Monday-Wednesday from 2:30-3:15pm. Our other After School Clubs remain: Nature Watch and Lego/Robotics on Tuesdays, Project Optimism on Thursdays, and ELD Tutoring Monday-Thursday.
ELD Update
ELD groups are paused as all English Learners are ELPAC testing this month.
3rd-5th grade is 75% finished with their group testing sessions.
Middle School is 50% finished with their group testing sessions.
3rd-8th grade will be taking their speaking tests over the next 2-3 weeks.
K-2nd will have individual testing sessions during the two weeks before we go on Spring break.
Everyone has been focused and giving their best effort, so make sure to celebrate this weekend and be ready to finish strong next week!
