CAVALIER Chronicle
It's a Great Week to be a Cavalier!
Happy Sunday Cavalier Families!
The semester got off to a great start this past week! Hopefully your weekend has been a good one as well. We are excited to see our students again tomorrow. We are expecting some cold weather again this week, so please make sure that your student(s) are dressed appropriately. 🥶
This month, we’re focusing on an essential value that helps build strong relationships and a positive school community: respect. At this stage of middle school, students are learning how to navigate more responsibilities, friendships, and interactions with others—including their families.
Respect starts at home, and we want to partner with you in encouraging your child to demonstrate kindness and consideration in their words and actions. Here are a few ways we’re fostering respect at school and how you can reinforce it at home:
At School:
- Modeling Respectful Behavior: Teachers and staff are modeling polite communication and encouraging students to do the same with peers and adults.
- Classroom Discussions: On Fridays, during Cav Connection, we’re talking about empathy, active listening, and understanding different perspectives.
At Home:
- Practice Gratitude: Encourage your child to thank family members for their help and support, whether it’s a ride to school or preparing a meal.
- Set Expectations: Talk about respectful ways to express feelings, even when they’re upset or frustrated.
- Be a Role Model: Kids mirror what they see—when they see respect in your interactions, they’re more likely to adopt it.
We know parenting middle schoolers can come with its challenges, but your guidance and support make a huge difference. Thank you for continuing to nurture respect and responsibility in your child. Together, we’re helping them grow into thoughtful, considerate young adults.
We are looking forward to a Cav-tastic week with your students!

This Month's CKH Character Trait: Respect - Act with thoughtfulness.
Monday: Respect is one of life’s greatest treasures. What does it all add up to if you don’t have that?
Tuesday: When you show respect for others, you are setting a good example for those watching you.
Wednesday: If you have respect for people as they are, you become more effective in helping them to become better than they are.
Thursday: Respect comes when people consider you to be honest, dependable, and courageous.
Friday: Be a reflection of what you would like to see in others. If you want love, give love, if you want honesty, give honesty, if you want respect, give respect. You get in return, what you give!

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Map for Cars and Buses
Please notice the drop off and pick up areas for cars at CPMS. For the safety of our students, please do not drop off in the bus loop.
Parents/Guardians should only be driving in the yellow area indicated on the map.
The red area is for buses only. Parents who enter the red area are putting students and staff at risk as there is limited visibility when buses are present.
We appreciate your support in enforcing the KISD Student Code of Conduct!
Student Code of Conduct cards were sent home this past week. Please make sure that you have read over the SCOC so that you know the expectations for behavior.
