HIGHLIGHTS FOR APRIL

Though April was a “short” month, it was packed with memorable events here at SG. As we look ahead to the final stretch of the school year, I want to share a few highlights and keep you updated on exciting plans for May.

1st Grade Play: Our first graders delighted the audience with their charming performance led by our talented music teacher, Mr. Mercieca, and the dedicated first grade team. Bravo to all our young performers!
Recycling Initiative: Our Student Council representatives took the lead in launching the district’s paper recycling initiative. Through announcements, videos, and daily reminders, they taught us not just the “what,” but the “why” behind recycling.
Science Fair: Students in grades 3-5 wowed us with creative projects that explored their interests and tackled real-world problems. Thank you to our students—and families—for your enthusiasm and support.

EXTRA! EXTRA! UPDATES FROM THE OFFICE

Planning for the 2025–2026 School Year: We are busy preparing for next year—finalizing enrollment, class sections and staffing. You can help us by:

Letting us know if your family is moving out of South Grove.
Encouraging new neighbors with school-aged children to register as soon as possible.
Remembering to vote in the District Election & Budget Vote on May 20.
Class Placement Input: Information about submitting input letters for class placement will be sent out in early May. Please hold off on sending letters until then.

Arrival & Dismissal Reminders

Students arriving after 9:15 AM must be signed in by a parent or guardian with our security team. Please do not drop off your child without making contact with a staff member!
Enter early dismissals and absences in PickUp Patrol.
Please avoid blocking neighbors’ driveways during arrival and dismissal—thank you for your cooperation!

Save the Date: Field Day is May 30! Join us for a full day of fun and school spirit. Parents are invited to cheer on their children during their scheduled session. Details to follow soon!
