Summer Travel - Italy
Washington DC
Hey, Juniors and Seniors! Are you interested in going to Washington, D.C. for a week in January?
Mrs. Wilson is taking students to Washington, D.C. with the Close Up program from January 17th through the 22nd.
While we’re there, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with our Congressman or Senators, take a private tour of the U.S. Capitol, visit some of the important sites in Washington, D.C., and participate in debates and discussions with students from all over the country.
The absences for this trip are approved by the district and will not count against you or your exemption status.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, come see Mrs. Wilson in Room 1032 in the Social Studies Hall for more information.
This is a great opportunity to experience Washington, D.C., learn more about our government, and get a real Close Up look at our nation’s capital!

Campus Information
Personal Communication Devices
As part of our commitment to maintaining a focused learning environment, per TEA Code 37.082 students are not permitted to have personal communication devices during the instructional school day. Devices must be stored in the students backpack as designated by Katy ISD. A procedure change this year for Jordan High School is that once a students device has been confiscated due to their second device infraction or more, a parent or guardian must come to the campus the next day to retrieve the device. Please note that device pickup is available between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this expectation and helping students stay engaged in learning.
Personal Communication Devices Includes, but are not limited to: Cell phones, personal laptops, iPads, air pods, headphones, META GLASSES, smart watches & rings, gaming devices, any device that can communicate, etc.
Meta Glasses are not allowed, even if they are prescription glasses. Students will need to have a pair of prescription glasses that do not violate the Personal Communication Device Law.
Attendance Information
Parking Lot Safety
Parents/Guardians,
Many of our students ride bicycles, scooters, or electric bikes to school, and we want to emphasize the importance of discussing parking lot safety with them.
While on school property, students should stay on the sidewalks, travel at a minimal speed, and avoid cutting through the parking lot. During high-traffic times—such as arrival and dismissal—students should walk their bicycles, scooters, or electric bikes on the sidewalks until they are safely past areas with pedestrian and staff traffic.
Please be aware that any vehicle not allowed on school property could result in disciplinarian actions as stated in the Katy ISD Code of Conduct.
For families who drop off or pick up students, as well as student drivers, please be extra cautious and watch for students walking or riding.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders:
- Students should only be dropped off at the front or back of the school.
- Students are not allowed to be dropped off in the staff parking lot or the bus driveway. Please stay out of this area for arrival and dismissal to make way for our buses.
- Refer to the parking lot map for designated drop-off and pick-up areas.
Late Arrival Students
- If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to walk around to the front of the building to enter the campus.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students, staff, and families.
Bus Information
Parents/Guardians,
Please register your student in SMART tag to ensure they are provided with a Route number prior to the start of the school year. To register, parents will need to download the SMART tag app.
As a reminder, students will need to know their ROUTE # as it will not change, while a bus number changes from time to time. Please communicate this with your student and have them save their ROUTE # in their phone. They will need to know their ROUTE # for the first day of school.
AI in the Classroom
Below you will find the JHS AI Use Categories. These categories are designed to help teachers clearly communicate expectations for the appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in assignments and projects.
The purpose of this framework is to support the responsible and ethical use of AI while ensuring that students continue to engage in the critical thinking, problem-solving, and learning processes that are essential for mastering course content. By identifying the appropriate AI Use Category for each assignment, teachers can provide clear guidance on when and how AI tools may be used.
Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the different categories. Teachers will identify the applicable AI Use Category for assignments and projects throughout the school year. Unless otherwise specified by the teacher, the default expectation is that AI may not be used.
