April 29 & 30: 8th Grade Science

May 4-7: 7th & 8th Grade ELA

May 8-12: 7th & 8th Grade Math

Next year students will be using the Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library as one of their main sources for library books. Each team will take a field trip to the Oak Bend Branch once a month with both their ELA teacher and Mrs. Tumminello. Please complete the application for a St. Louis County Library card and return it to your 7th Grade ELA teacher the library, or the front office as soon as possible. If you already have a SLCL card please send back the application with your child's card number so we can have it on file.

We're looking for local businesses and professionals to partner with for our career fair on April 17th. The time commitment would be from 7:30am to 11am.
We are hoping to find local businesses to speak to our kids about their career fields and professionals who are able to offer insight to our students about resume building, soft skills, and interviews.

Fox C-6 School District and the Fenton Barnes & Noble are bringing in Bruce Cameron, author of A Dog’s Purpose, to Fox High School on March 20th from 6 pm – 8 pm. If you are interested in more information, here’s a link to the flyer. To register for the free event, go here.

ELA- Mrs. Forderhase

Students’ Poetry Anthologies were due Thursday, March 12 by midnight. Our poetry publishing party where students will share a poem from their anthology will be upon our return from spring break.

As always, thank you for encouraging your child to read regularly at home!

Science- Mrs. Kenney

This week in science, we continued with our Energy Unit. This week, students presented their Energy Resources Project. Then, students took an open-note test over the material. Students should have their research packet and folder turned in to me. We will finish up Energy and take the Energy Unit Summative Test after Spring Break. If you would like to support our classroom projects, we would greatly appreciate donations of tissue paper, duct tape, hot glue sticks, and glue sticks. Thank you!

Social Studies- Mr. Ward

This week in social studies, students presented their Dream Career Projects. Our next unit of study will be our Civil Rights unit. This unit will start when we return from Spring Break Break. We will begin with the Bill of Rights.

Our Springfield field trip is coming up quickly. Please fill out the field trip form and return it by March 23rd, this is the Monday we return from Spring Break.

We would sincerely appreciate any donations of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. We are stepping up our efforts to keep cold and flu viruses at bay and use them. Just have your student drop them off to any Green Team Teacher!
