International Mud Day

On June 29 we will be celebrating International Mud Day. International Mud Day is a day when children all over the world are encouraged to experience the joy of playing with and in mud. We will have many opportunities for the children in each center to explore mud. This means they will be getting very dirty. We recommend that you send some "mud clothes" with your child for this day. Once the activities are over we will have your child clean up and change back into clean clothes. The muddy clothes will be sent home at the end of the day.

International Mud Day began in 2009 at a World Forum event, when Gillian McAuliffe from Australia and Bishnu Bhatta from Nepal got together to talk about ways to encourage feelings of community and appreciation for the world around us. The collaboration that followed has inspired educators, children, and families across the globe, from Holland to Nepal to the United States, to celebrate International Mud Day together each year on June 29.

ICE CREAM WAGON

Once a week the Youth Center kids will visit the other classrooms for the opportunity to purchase Popsicles and Ice Cream Treats after snack. The treats will cost $.50-$1.75. We will provide Otter Pops for anyone who does not have money. If you would like to bring $5 or $10, we would be happy to keep this in an envelope for your child to use each week. We will let you know when it runs low. Look for the "ICW" (Ice Cream Wagon) in our field trip section to find out what day it will take place each week.

Please watch for the Food Program Form distributed on July 10th. It will be due back July 17th for the 2026 fiscal year. If your child will not be attending in the fall, we still need you to fill out a form to cover the summer.

Mark Your Calendars - Child Care Closed

Monday, August 24: Closed for Teacher Training and Classroom Prep. This is after the end of the summer program which is August 21. The fall program will start on August 25 for those continuing into the fall.

*For school age children that are attending in the fall we will be open all day on Tuesday, August 25. If your school age child is scheduled to attend on Tuesdays then we will assume they are attending that full day. If your child has a later school start date , please talk with us in the office about your options.

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.
