A Note from Principal DeVito
Good Afternoon Jaguar Nation!
We had a fantastic first week at Jones! 🎉 Check out the video below for highlights and pictures capturing some of our best moments.
Car line procedures are improving—thank you for your patience and cooperation. Please remember to pull all the way forward to help keep traffic moving efficiently.
With so many of our students walking, biking, or riding scooters to school each day, please stay alert and watch carefully for all of our student commuters. Your attentiveness helps keep everyone safe. This week also marked the start of our expectation talks for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
During these sessions, we review the rules, routines, and expectations for school. Our students have done an amazing job meeting their teachers, connecting with friends, and learning their schedules.
We’re also excited to share more about how we’re using Minga as part of our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) system. Minga allows us to celebrate students when they are recognized for being REAL Jags—Respectful, Empathetic, Accountable Leaders. You’ll begin receiving email notifications for these positive acknowledgments. In addition to supporting PBIS, Minga helps us manage student IDs, check students in at events, monitor hallway movement, and reward student engagement.

No Cell Phones, Ear Buds Or Wireless Head Phones Allowed During The School Day
Students need to have cellphones, ear buds, and wireless head phones off and away in backpacks. They are not to be accessed during school hours due to new legislation passed this summer. Students can use wired headphones with their chrome books when needing to listen on devices.
School Lunches
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to middle school! As your child enters 6th grade, we want to inform you that lunch offerings and pricing differ from what they may have been used to in elementary school. Our middle school menu offers a wider variety of meal options, including both classic favorites and upgraded combos.
For more meal and a la carte menu pricing please visit the link https://www.prosperisd.net/page/menus
We encourage students to choose a complete combo meal to get the best value and ensure a balanced lunch.
If your students have meal account notes carried over from elementary school, please review and update them as needed. For example, if a note indicates “No à la carte”, the student will only be allowed to purchase the $4.25 Student Lunch Combo. If your student currently has no restrictions on their account and you wish to add one (such as limiting à la carte purchases), please use the form linked below: https://forms.prosper-isd.net/Forms/MealAccountRestrictions
Please note: This form is not intended for allergy-related restrictions. For any dietary or medical concerns, please submit the appropriate documentation directly to the school nurse.
Thank you for helping us ensure accurate and up-to-date meal account information for your student. If you have any questions regarding meal pricing or the lunch program, feel free to reach out to our Child Nutrition team at child-nutrition@prosper-isd.net.
