Monroe May Parent Newsletter
August 7, 2026
From Mrs. Mireles, Principal
Hi Roadrunner families!
What an aMAYzing Meet the Teacher we had yesterday! It was so much fun to see returning students and meet new smiling faces! I want to reiterate a few things below before we open doors on Monday:
Dismissal: we will no longer allow cars to park in the parking lot after 2:30 during dismissal.
If you walk to school for pick up, you will still be able to pick up your child by walking up. We do ask that you use the sidewalk as you arrive and leave the campus rather than crossing through the parking lot. Here's a video as a visual for the process. Please be kind and patient and know that we have yours and your children's safety first. Thank you in advance for your help with creating a safe dismissal process for our campus.

IDs & Fast Passes: This year we will require Fast Passes for any adult visitor entering the building during school hours. ALL visitors will be required to present a valid state ID to be scanned in our Raptor System to receive a Fast Pass before entering our building during school hours. They are not required at after-school events as during these times, all students are accompanied by an adult. We recommend getting a Fast Pass before school starts. You can get your Fast Pass Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30-3:30.
Breakfast: Hot breakfast in the cafeteria will no longer be served after 7:40am.
Tardies: If a student arrives after 7:45 they are considered tardy. We recommend students arriving by 7:30 so they do not feel rushed as they begin the day. If a student is tardy, they must be signed in by an adult.
Attendance: As a campus this past year our Average Daily Attendance (ADA) was 93.5. We are aiming for 95% this school year. Please help us make that happen by bringing your students to school everyday, on time. We can't teach your students if they are not here. Thank you for your partnership!
Facebook: Don't forget to follow us on Facebook! It's the easiest & quickest way for us to post happenings around campus. https://www.facebook.com/MayRoadrunners/
School Shirts: Sold online this year! The online store will close on Sept. 4th and we should have Spirit shirts delivered to your students by the week of Sept 21st. Delivery will be communicated to you as it gets closer and we have a date from the company that shirt printing will be completed.

Free Breakfast & Lunch for May Students!
Monroe May students will continue to receive meals at no cost 🎉. In order to allow our students to continue receiving free meals in the future, we will need all families to complete a CEP form. This will also help determine additional funding for state and federal programs and services that may be provided at May.
Use the link below to help us complete this task. We also have hard copies available in the front office.
