Hello Cougar Ninja Families!

We are so excited to have our Ninja Nation Cougar Quest obstacle course tomorrow! We are beyond thankful for your donations. As of today, we have raised $28,145. We are so close to our goal of $40,000! We can do it! Your donations help make CME an even better place to be everyday!!

Chess Club

Did you know that CME now has a chess club? Mrs. Lagodny and Mrs. Stinnett are working with 5th & 6th graders to learn the game of chess. Members of the Mountain Vista High School Chess Club have been volunteering to coach our elementary students. They've been absolutely fantastic! The MVHS students are incredibly knowledgeable about the game, wonderfully patient with our little learners, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing their passion for chess. Our CME chess club members now know all about strategic opening moves, how to castle, laddering and other chess game strategies. An opportunity for 3rd & 4th grade chess players will be available after Fall Break. Stay tuned for details.

The Bearded Dragon

I had a 1st grader, Madden, who had worked on a persuasive writing piece, convince me that she should be able to bring her bearded dragon to school to show all her friends. She had everyone in the room sign her letter. The cuteness factor was 10/10 and she was pretty persuasive! I don’t know…what should I say?! I love my job!!!

PICTURE RETAKE DAY - THURSDAY 9/25/25 -

Van Gogh School Photographers will be taking individual retake photos for those children who were not present on picture day or whose photos did not meet your standards. Approximately two weeks after picture day, a proof will be sent home with your student that will include information on how to view their picture(s) as well as how

to place your order online. All orders placed, will ship directly to the students home.

RETAKES: If you would like your child to participate in retakes please have your child return the original proof that was sent home and mark “Retake” on the top of the proof.

Ninja Nation: Cougar Quest is TOMORROW!!

What a great few weeks we have had, getting ready for tomorrow’s event with Ninja Nation! We hope that you and your kids have enjoyed it all as well. Tomorrow, please be sure that your child wears closed toed shoes (NO Crocs), their gold school shirt (which may still be at school, if the teacher didn’t send it home), and brings a water bottle. Parents are encouraged to come watch and cheer on your little ninjas, so please check the schedule above to see when they will be competing.

If you haven’t signed the Ninja Nation waiver yet, please do so HERE . Ninja Nation is very strict on not allowing students to compete if they have not signed the waiver.

Thank you so much for all of your generous support so far! We are SO CLOSE to our goal of $40,000, and we know we can do it in our final days! The fundraiser will remain open until 9/22 and we will happily accept donations after the event. Don’t forget to see if your employer is on the list for Employer Matching to double your generosity!

VISION AND HEARING -
