Dear KRS Families,

Happy last Friday of September 2023! Respect week is scheduled next week for every public school in New Jersey. Thank you to the KRS School Safety committee under the leadership of school counselor Mr. Levine for planning engaging student activities focused on kindness (Kindness Lives at KRS) and respect. The activities are highlighted in this newsletter and in a separate communication that was sent to you today.

Thank you to Mrs. de Freitas and Mrs. Zurich for leading a fun, informative, and productive PTO meeting on Wednesday. The KRS PTO is an important organization that provides many enriching activities for the KRS students and their families. Also, great thanks to the all the PTO members for their engagement and contributions.

Outside or Inside Recess?

Our daily goal is to provide the students with at least one time to play outside. Unfortunately, the weather may have other plans. In the case of inclement weather, the 3 elementary schools communicate with one another to decide about recess. The decision is focused on the safety and comfort of the students. Factors considered are the temperature, precipitation, and if the black-top and playground equipment are slippery. Please make sure that your child is prepared to play outside with clothing (coats, gloves, etc...) as we head into the colder weather months.

Quest for Kindness Assembly

Thank you to the KRS PTO for arranging for such a "Kind" assembly!
