Principal's Message
Parent(s):
We are excited to welcome back our students to the last three weeks of the first semester of school in December! Our goal is to support your child in academic growth and becoming a positive, collaborative member of our learning community. Parents partnership in helping students be successful at school is essential. Please continue to reach out to teachers, counselors, or administrators for any assistance needed. Our goal is to communicate with you within 24 hours. Please use the district email to contact staff for support.
Our Jaguar School Rules that support a positive, productive learning environment are:
- Be safe. (Use kind words and keep your hands to yourself.)
- Be responsible. (Be prepared for school with all materials and complete your work.)
- Be respectful. (Follow directions from all adults and be an active listener.)
Please remind students of our school rules and putting forth their best efforts every day to increase their academic abilities as well as positive social interactions. If students experience any unkind interactions or safety concerns, the first step is to report to the closest adult for immediate action and resolution. Thanks so much for your support in making the next 15 days of school powerful learning experiences.
One of our goals this year is to improve daily attendance to 97%—because every day of learning matters. Our average daily attendance for last week was 94.27%! The greatest number of absences are for unexcused absences. Please submit any medical notes or parent notes to the office to excuse absences as soon as possible. We are doing great and trending towards our goal.
To ensure the safety of our students, all KISD schools use Entry Shield towers to detect metal brought into the school. Students and adults are expected to enter the school in a single file line to ensure we are able to monitor the Entry Shield towers as students pass through one at a time. Due to the use of these safety protocals, entry to school may take longer than expected. Please ensure you drop off students by 7:15 a.m. so they arrive in the classroom by the start of school-7:25 a.m.
Please remember that school starts at 7:25 a.m. Students being dropped off after this time need to be walked into the office with a parent or guardian and signed in.
Reminder-All backpacks and bags brought must meet KISD Standards

Please read the tardy policy below. The tardy policy will be implemented beginning September 8, 2025.
The tardy policy will also be utilized to ensure our students maximize learning experiences daily. Letters will be sent home or emailed to communicate with parents the number of tardies. Character Trait of the Month-Responsibiity
What is Responsibility?
Responsibility is the willingness and ability to take ownership of our thoughts, words, and actions. We have a responsibility to our school, family, and community to be accountable for our choices and how they impact ourselves and others.
- Responsibility teaches resilience. It is not possible to persevere and achieve our dreams without taking personal responsibility seriously.
- Responsibility empowers us to own our actions. There is great power in being able to make conscious, calculated choices to reach goals and manage those things in our control.
- Responsibility teaches us to manage our time and resources. Responsibly organizing and prioritizing needs is an executive function of the brain that improves with practice.
Dismissal Procedures
Any changes in the child’s regular schedule should be IN WRITING through a note or email to the teacher. Remember - school ends at 3:02 PM and your child should be picked up promptly.
Adults parking to pick up students are required to present identification. Safety of our children is our first priority!
Car-riders
Car-riders will be picked up in front of the building in one of two lanes. Lane 1 (closest to building) and lane 2 (furthest from building) are both available to use; the middle lane is to be kept open for vehicle movement ONLY. Each family will receive a placard with a number on it; this number will be assigned to your child(ren) and staff will use it to pair your child(ren) with your vehicle.
Car numbers MUST be placed in the passenger window or visor for clear identification. This assists quick identification of the cars to place students into for staff members.
Vehicles WITHOUT placards will need to park and the driver will need to walk up to the front of the building to show ID and pick up the child(ren). Extra placards are available upon request.
**PK and Kindergarten children will be walked by their teachers to their dismissal location beginning at 2:50. 1st - 5th grade will be walked by staff to their dismissal locations when the bell rings at 3:02.
WALKERS-Important Information!!!
Students are escorted out of the school to the fence at Florence road by the carwash where a crosswalk is used for safe walking across the street for older students with siblings. Students are expected to walk off campus by 3:07 p.m.
Students that have not walked off campus by 3:07 p.m. will be escorted to the office by the teacher. Students must be picked up in the office by parents.
