PIC Parent Update
November 7, 2025
Message from Principal Tekiela
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for attending the Parent-Teacher Conferences last week. We are pleased you had the chance to connect with your child's teachers. Now that Halloween has passed, it's time to plan for the holiday season. Please note the important dates below, especially the 4th Grade Winter Concert and the Winter Band Concert.
We will have a district-wide spirit week the week before Winter Break. An official flyer will be sent out soon, but for those who like to plan ahead, here are the themes: Merry Grinchmas, Dress Like a Candy Cane, Jingle Jammie, Holiday Explosion, and Ugly Sweater Day.
We have an exciting incentive with our ALEKS online Math program. Students who log in for more than 60 minutes next week can earn 5 extra Blue Bucks. Please contact your child's math teacher if you need assistance logging in.
The fourth grade will be taking a field trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. Permission slips will be sent home soon.
Finally, we are looking forward to our Veterans Day School Assembly on Tuesday. This assembly is just for students and any Veterans who sign up in advance. We encourage students to wear red, white, and blue on Tuesday.
Thank you for your support and involvement!

Bus Transportation Change Update 9/22/25
With the increase in students on bus routes this year, we are no longer able to allow extra passengers to ride home with other students. Families will need to make alternate arrangements for these situations.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support.
School Attendance
We encourage families to ensure that their students arrive at school on time every day. We recognize that there are valid reasons for students to miss school occasionally. To help keep everyone informed, we send attendance reminder letters at 7, 10, and 14 absences. Additionally, we collaborate with Will County Truancy Officers to provide extra support services for families in need. The attendance team at PIC is dedicated to partnering with families for their success. Please feel free to reach out to our office or Principal Tekiela with any questions or concerns.
