Farmington Football Aug 25 Update
August 25, 2024
Game week is officially here!
What a week! We did a tremendous job with community outreach on Tuesday, we got to watch the Marching Band rehearse on Wednesday, on Thursday we brought in the most money we ever have on a blitz night, and Friday we ended the preseason with the watermelon run!
The guys all had a tremendous time at yesterday's scrimmage. Guys looked physical and excited to compete!
This will be an unusual week, in that the varsity plays on Thursday.
Monday is supposed to be hot. We have reserved gym space if the "Wet Bulb Globe Temperature" indicates that we need to stay inside. 10-12 grade will start lifting at 2:30. 9th grade will start at 3:00. Make sure your player brings gym shoes, for indoor walk thru.
Tuesday
Practice as usual for all levels. (10B game moved to Friday)
Wednesday
9B playing at Mounds View at 4:00pm. (Bus time 2:30)
9A plays at Mounds View at 5:45. (Bus time 4:00)
10A plays at Mounds View at 7:30. (Bus time 5:30)
Practice as usual for Varsity and JV. Varsity guys have a team meal in the FHS STADIUM PLAZA at 5:00pm.
Thursday is the varsity home game at home at 7pm vs Mounds View.
Friday we have a JV game at Mounds View at 10am. (Bus time 8:45)
10B plays at home (FHS TURF) vs Two Rivers at 10:30am
Please understand that this schedule is fluid and will change.

Community Outreach Day!
Community Outreach Day was a success!
Last Tuesday the Football Team went out into the community and volunteered at RVES, MVES, and at the high school!
Carmen Pata - Former Head Strength and Performance Coach UWRF
Guest Presenter on Thursday
On Thursday, my very good friend Carmen Pata presented to the 9-12 grade football players about how the consumption of alcohol can impact performance. It was a tremendous message for these young men, as they are faced with tough decisions as they get older.
HELP NEEDED!
The Booster Club needs help!

The booster club is looking for volunteers to help out with team meals!
Schoology and Hudl
Schoology will be the primary form of communication with our players during the season. Players and coaches will use schoology for playbooks, assignments, plus various other resources. We would like for the player to learn how to communicate with their coaches using that platform. There will be a 9th grade schoology page and a 10-12 schoology page. These pages are set up already, and I've largely placed all participants in the right spot.
Hudl is the way in which we review practice and game film. It is an integral part of the learning process. Much like schoology, there is a 9th grade hudl group, and a 10-12 hudl group. Your son will get into hudl the first days of practice, if they have not already.
Story of the Season
New this year! Farmington High School Football has hired "Story of the Season" to make and compile our new weekly online media guide. This will include pictures, game stories, highlights, interviews and players of the game, representing every level of Farmington Football. If you are interested in advertising your company in the new media guide, please contact Randy Fulsaas at: rFulsaas@millerhartwig.com
Also, if you are interested in doing a "senior message" to your son commemorating his time playing football, those will be available for $50. Contact Coach Pieper directly about this.
