First grade has been busy learning expectations and procedures, but best of all, they have been working and playing with their friends! Many new friendships are being made during class and at recess. These new classmates are taking care of each other by helping one another learn, including others in their recess play, and using kind words to brighten everyone's day. We are having fun in First Grade!

In 2nd grade, we like to dream big! We read the book "The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be" by Joanna Gaines. The book explores how everyone thinks differently in their design of a hot air balloon. Some dive right in whereas others calculate their every move. Differences among the group are accepted and even embraced. This led us into a discussion on how we also learn and think differently in our own classrooms. We each have different hopes as well. We expressed what dreams we have for second grade and created a hot air balloon to showcase our goal. Check out C-Pod to see our hopes and dreams flying high!
