PTSC: The Book Fair will be at the Middle School from March 2 - 6. Thanks to your support in the Fall, we earned over $2000 in Scholastic Dollars, which we used to purchase books for the students in the media center and classrooms. If you would like to set up an eWallet for your student, visit our Scholastic webpage. We really need volunteers to help keep the Book Fair open during school hours. Community Service Project Community Service Project

On April 2 (the day before spring break) we will conduct a schoolwide community service project where we will be making bagged lunches for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). There are a variety of tasks in this project and we hope to involve as many students as possible with assignments ranging from sandwich making, to making flatware bundles, to packing boxes for delivery.

To support this project, we are looking for donations. These donations can be “in kind” or cash. Please see the link to the sign up genius below if you wish to make a donation:

Clinical Corner Clinical Corner

In reading Brene Brown’s book, Atlas of the Heart, I felt compelled to share her research about a few of the eighty-seven emotions and experiences she covers. She explains that some are not emotions but experiences that lead to emotions. In the next few Clinical Corners. I hope to expand your emotional vocabulary as I learn along with you. The ability to label our emotions is related to greater emotion regulation and psychosocial well-being. It’s moving away from “What’s wrong with me?” to “Oh, I am feeling _____.” The ability to articulate our emotions leads to deeper connection, with our families, friends, students-everyone.

What Can I Expect to Learn During the Information Sessions?

The New Jersey Department of Education, along with our assessment partner Cambium Assessment, Inc. (CAI), is hosting virtual information sessions to help families learn about the new tests. During each session, representatives from NJDOE and CAI will discuss:

• What’s new in the upcoming NJSLA-A and NJGPA-A

• How these tests support students and families

Time will be made available for questions from participants. All sessions are free, virtual, and open to families. For those unable to attend, NJDOE will post the presentations for families to access at their convenience after the series concludes.
