Principal's Message
Dear GTMS Families,
April Newsletter Message
We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved and fun Spring Break! This is a wonderful time to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. When we return, we want our Grizzlies to come back refreshed and ready to finish the year strong. Remember, it’s just as important to finish the year with the same energy and focus as when we started—every day counts!
The final months of the school year are filled with so many opportunities for growth, learning, and celebration. From academic achievements to special events, we look forward to recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of all our students. Together, we will continue to foster a school environment that encourages success, kindness, and responsibility.
As always, let’s continue to Respect the Paw—respect yourself, respect others, respect the school, and respect our Galloway community. Your efforts make our school a safe, welcoming, and positive place for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Warm regards,
Paula Junker

GTMS Drama Shines with Winnie the Pooh!
Our talented cast of Winnie the Pooh delivered a truly delightful performance that had everyone smiling from the Hundred Acre Wood! From sweet songs to heartwarming moments, these students captivated us with their musical talent, charm, and the pure joy of storytelling.
A special thank you to Mr. Conover and Ms. Paton for their love of theater, guidance, and unwavering support of the arts—your passion makes experiences like this possible for our students!
GTMS Drama Brings Winnie the Pooh to Life on Tour
Our Winnie the Pooh cast took their talents on the road this week, bringing smiles and a little bit of the Hundred Acre Wood to our elementary schools and Ridgewood Senior Living! 🍯🎭
From “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think,” to the simple joy of friendship, our students shared the heart of this story with every audience they met.
We are so proud of the way they represented GTMS—spreading kindness, laughter, and a whole lot of Pooh Bear love wherever they went! 💛
Traveling African American Museum Visits GTMS
GTMS Student Council was proud to host the Traveling African American Museum, led by Ralph E. Hunter, Sr., founder of the African American Heritage Museum of Southern New Jersey.
Through his powerful mobile exhibit, Mr. Hunter has impacted over 100,000 students, bringing history to life with meaningful artifacts and stories. What began as a passion—collecting “treasures” others left behind—has grown into an inspiring educational experience for schools across the region.
We are grateful for this opportunity to engage our students in such an important and enriching learning experience.
NJ School Boards 8th Grade Dialogue!
Anthony Marmo, our Student Council President, proudly represented GTMS at the New Jersey School Boards 8th Grade Dialogue. Alongside students from neighboring middle schools, he engaged in meaningful conversations on important topics such as AI, cell phone use, and future goals.
We are incredibly proud of Anthony and the way he represented our school community with thoughtfulness, confidence, and pride! 🌟
Building Connections Through Reading
In celebration of Read Across America, our GTMS Grizzlies had the wonderful opportunity to read with our AR Dragons!
It was a special week filled with stories, smiles, and connection—bringing our two schools together through the joy of reading. We loved seeing our students step into leadership roles and share their love of books with younger learners. One community, growing and learning together!
GTMS Student Council Explores State Government
Our Student Council members had an incredible opportunity to visit the Trenton State House, where they experienced government in action! 🏛️ Students explored the historic building, learned about how laws are made, and even had the chance to see where important decisions for our state take place. This trip brought their learning to life and inspired thoughtful conversations about leadership, civic responsibility, and the role they can play in their communities.
Adaptation Island
Mrs. Mohr-Murphy’s 8th grade science classes created an “adaptation island” by designing creatures that combined traits from four organisms and their defenses, ensuring each model accurately represented a species, and then brought them to life with Play-Doh. Be sure to visit her classroom to see their incredible island creations!

Harassments, Intimidation & Bullying (HIB)
It is imperative that we continue to teach our students the effects that bullying has on others and a community. Every student deserves a safe and supportive learning environment, free from fear and harassment. Any instance of bullying should be promptly reported to the administration or staff member, who will take immediate and appropriate action to address the situation. By fostering a culture of kindness, empathy, and respect, we can create a school community where all students feel valued and accepted.
