π Classroom Volunteering Starts October 23
In Montessori, the first six weeks of school are known as the Normalization Period. This is when classroom communities settle into routines, build relationships, and establish a peaceful learning environment with as few outside interruptions as possible.
After this period (ending October 23), students and teachers will be ready to welcome volunteers into classrooms.
Now is the perfect time to:
Complete and sign your Background Check form, and provide a copy of your driverβs license (email both pieces to bethany.dilla@ridgeline.org)
Sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct
That way, youβll be ready to jump in when the time comes!
π± Volunteering at Ridgeline: What You Need to Know
Volunteers are an essential part of the Ridgeline community, and there are many ways to get involved! Each family is asked to contribute 40 volunteer hours per school year, and weβd love to help you find opportunities that fit your schedule and interests.
β Getting Approved
To participate, all volunteers must first complete a background check and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct. Once these two steps are complete, the School Community Coordinator will email you to let you know you are green badge approved and ready to volunteer!
π Ways to Get Involved
From serving on committees, preparing materials at home, and helping with grounds work to assisting in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, serving as crossing guards, and moreβyour time and talents make a big difference.
π Learn More
Join us for Volunteer Power Hour on Friday, October 2, from 8:45β9:45 a.m. in the Ridgeline Library to learn more about our volunteer teams and opportunities.
π€ Tracking Volunteer Hours
New to Ridgeline? Track It Forward is where families sign up for volunteer opportunities and log their volunteer hours.
First-time users:
Visit Track It Forward or download the Track It Forward app from your deviceβs App Store.
Create an account or log in.
Sign up for volunteer opportunities and remember to log all of your volunteer hours!
π Why It Matters
Please make it a habit to track ALL volunteer hours throughout the school year. Your volunteer hours help us demonstrate community support when applying for grants and reporting to our sponsoring district, Eugene 4J.

CONTINUING NEWS
π Library Cards for Ridgeline Students!
Weβre excited to share a partnership between Eugene Public Library and Ridgeline Montessori Public Charter School that makes library access available to Ridgeline students who live outside Eugene!
Through this partnership, non-Eugene resident students can receive a special Eugene Public Library student card at no cost to their families.
With a student card, students can:
π Check out up to 5 physical items at any Eugene Public Library location.
π Receive up to 7 automatic renewals on eligible items.
π Access Eugene Public Libraryβs services without paying a library fee.
A few things to know:
These student cards have different limitations than standard Eugene Public Library cards.
Eugene residents should not apply. If your student lives within the City of Eugene and already has a library cardβor is eligible for a free standard cardβthey should use that card instead.
Families are responsible for replacement costs for lost or damaged items.
Accounts with fees over $100 will be blocked from borrowing until the balance is reduced below that amount. Accounts with fees over $100 may also be referred to a collection agency.
Ready to get a card?
Complete the form below to request a Eugene Public Library student card for your Ridgeline student:
