The Ram Reminder ~Families~
September 7, 2025
Dear GCE Families,
We are so excited to have all of our students back in the building—what a wonderful start to the school year! The classrooms and hallways are buzzing with energy, and it’s already shaping up to be a fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun.
Over these first days, we’ve been working hard on establishing routines, procedures, and school-wide expectations so that all students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Your children are already doing a great job!
✨ Stay tuned for Homecoming information! We’ll be sending out details soon about our dress-up days so your child can join in on the Ram spirit.
📬 Monthly Reminders: Each month, you’ll receive a message from me with important updates and reminders to help keep you informed.
✅ A quick ask: Please take a few minutes to read each reminder all the way through so you don’t miss out on important details. Staying up to date helps us partner together to make sure your child has the best school experience possible.
Thank you for your continued support—we’re looking forward to a wonderful year at Greene County Elementary!
With excitement,
Mrs. Hinote

Character Strong
We are looking forward to another exciting year of Character discovery alongside your child. The three outcomes of CharacterStrong are:
- Be Kind
- Be Strong
- Be Well
Respect is the character trait for the month of September. We are excited to share pictures of our respectful students at GCE next month!
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
After-School Changes:
-
Please contact the office first if your child’s after-school plans change.
-
If you message the classroom teacher, you will be asked to notify the office to avoid any miscommunication.
Leaving Early:
-
Notify the office if your child needs to leave early.
-
Students will wait in the office and be dismissed only to parents/guardians or authorized caregivers for safety.
Dismissal Pick-Up:
-
Parents should continue to wait outside the building for dismissal.
-
If you need assistance or need to enter, please check with a staff member outside.
-
Our staff are stationed outdoors to ensure a safe and smooth dismissal.
Thank you for following the drop-off and pick-up map provided—your cooperation helps reduce congestion and keeps all students safe.
Supervision Hours:
-
Monday: 7:50 a.m. – 1:40 p.m.
-
Tuesday–Friday: 7:50 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
-
Staff are not available before or after these times, so please plan drop-off/pick-up accordingly.
We appreciate your support as we work together to keep dismissal safe and smooth for everyone.
Safety & Emergency Drills
We will continue to have a law enforcement presence in the school from time to time. Throughout the year, students and staff will also practice emergency drills—including evacuation, shelter, hold, secure, and lockdown.
These drills are an important part of keeping everyone prepared and safe in case of an emergency. Please know your child may come home and talk with you about these drills.
