National Truth and Reconciliation Week National Truth and Reconciliation Week

During National Truth and Reconciliation Week, our school is engaging in meaningful activities to honour Indigenous peoples and the importance that Every Child Matters. Students created classroom murals to visually express this message, and also participated in outdoor story walks to deepen their understanding. On Friday, staff and students wore orange shirts to show support and remembrance. We came together for a student led school-wide assembly to reflect as a community, and our Grade 6 students took part in a smudge ceremony to experience and learn about this important tradition.

PAS is the fundraising branch of our parent community that raises funds throughout the school year to support the school's initiatives. For example, new this year to Lakeland, PAS will be paying for transportation to and from the swimming pool for grade 3 swimming lessons.

Many times throughout the year we look for volunteers to organize and help with fundraising activities, such as hot lunch. If you are interested in helping out or would like more information please feel free to reach out to the current PAS chair at llrpaschair@gmail.com.

More information and previous PAS meeting minutes can be found on our Parent Action Society page of the school website.

More information about the meeting along with an agenda will be send out closer to the meeting date.

Signing In and Out at the School Office Signing In and Out at the School Office

Parents, please remind your children to sign out at the office prior to leaving school grounds regardless of what time of day they are exiting. We are finding that students are calling or texting home from their devices, getting permission from parents allowing them to leave, then leaving without first letting the office know. Students should be making these calls from the office, and then signing out before they go, so we can update their attendance.

If you call or email the school to give permission for your child to leave, we make a note of it, but if your child does not check out on their way, their attendance does not get updated and you’ll likely end up with an email reporting their absence.

If students arrive to school late, or return to the school following an appointment, they need to check in to the office so we can update their attendance and make note of the time they came in.

Thank you for helping us keep all of our wonderful students safe and accounted for. They are our reason for being here every day!

Medication Management Medication Management

If your child requires medication to be accessible at the school such as Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl, Reactine or Tums, please fill out the Medication Management Plan forms below.

Students are not permitted to administer their own medication at school. All medication should be provided in its original packaging and labelled with student’s name. All medication will be stored in the office with administering recorded.
