Calling All Students for WIN Wednesday!
Students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support every Wednesday afternoon from 2:40pm β 4:15pm in the flex room located in the learning commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. In addition students can also utilize the WIN program to make up tests they may have missed. Students can get this approved through their teacher ahead of time and the test will be ready for them to take during WIN. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (βWhat I Needβ or βWhatβs Important Nowβ), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:40pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). For students needing transportation home, activity buses will be available departing at 4:45pm.

Athletics Scoreboard
New: Dakota Hawks win BOTH CI and PI State Softball Titles.......AGAIN!
What a weekend at the State Adapted Softball Tournament at Chanhassen! For the second year in a row the Hawks captured BOTH the CI and PI Softball Titles! Congrats to the HAWKS! The Championship games were quite different as the PI Team put up an offensive explosion to defeat Rochester 19-4 by the 15 run rule in just 4 innings! This was the 5th straight State Title in PI Softball for the Hawks and their 61st win in a row! Quite the streak! The CI Team on the other hand was locked up in one of the lowest scoring games anyone can remember. They defeated New Prague 4-2 in a game that featured incredible defensive plays on both sides from start to finish and the Hawks used the long ball as they went back to back with homeruns over the fence to give them the final margin of victory! This was the CI
Our PI Hawks on the State Championship team included EV Students Jae Bahma, Sammy Jordheim, Chloe Shibatta and Will Warder (who was also named to the All-Tournament Team!)
Our CI Hawks on the State Championship team included EV Students Anthony Dyakin and Ada Kramer along with coaches Scott Oxley and Jeff Anderson!
WAY TO GO HAWKS!!
Varsity Girls Golf
The Varsity Girls golf team has had a busy spring and the girls continue to improve. Some highlights include a second place tournament finish in the third South Suburban Conference Tournament at Heritage Links on 5/12, where Addison Schafer tied for first place, Abby Boentje placed 15th and Addison Hedrick placed 16th. At the Irish Invite on 5/9, 6 EVGG players competed in the varsity tournament, and 4 girls in the JV tournament. For varsity, Addison Schafer placed 8th /64, and for JV, Hannah Denzel and Katelyn Gray placed 11th and 12th respectfully. On Thursday, 5/15, Addison Hedrick and Lila Johnson both had season low scores at Bunker Hills. Other great contributions from varsity players include Haley Rasmussen, Ella Pongdara and Katelyn Gray. Our JV team took second, only missing first by 1 stroke, at the annual District 196 Championship. Paige Escamilla was the tournament medalist, in a first place tie breaker with teammates Hannah Denzel, and Ellery Wilbur. Keep up the great work ladies.
Varsity Softball
The Wildcats scored in the first inning and the Lightning could never catch them. Kennedy Jacobson lead the team with 2 hits.
Varsity Boys Volleyball
The Lightning Boys volleyball teams concluded the regular season last night with a sweep of the Farmington Tigers. The varsity guys used tough serving, solid defense, and smart attacking to win 25-12, 25-20, 25-13. They finished a perfect 9-0 in conference, dropping only one set in conference play all season en route to becoming the first ever South Suburban Conference Champions. The team is 24-3 on the season and will start section play next week.
The Lightning JV guys finished their undefeated season with another resounding win over Farmington. Everyone contributed last night as the boys controlled the match from start to finish. The B-squad team also swept the Tigers in straight sets to close out their season.
