Principal's Message
A huge thank-you to all our families for your incredible support of this year’s Husky Run fundraiser! We had a fantastic turnout of parents and caregivers cheering on our students as they ran around the track with great energy and enthusiasm. Our students did an amazing job, and we’re so proud of their effort and school spirit. A special shout-out to our PTA for organizing and leading such a fun and successful event—thank you for all you do for our school community!
It's not too late to support our Huskies! If you would still like to donate, you can do so here:
Spaghetti Feed Success!
Our Spaghetti Feed was a huge success! We had nearly 300 students and family members join us for a fun evening of food and community. Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who helped make the night possible. We appreciate everyone who came out to support Mt. Vernon. It was a great night to be a Husky!
PTA Meeting - November 10
Join us for our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, November 10, from 5:30–6:30 PM. Food will be provided, and childcare and a Spanish interpreter will be available. We hope to see you there! Everyone is welcome!
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day - November 13
On Friday, November 13, we'll join schools across the nation in honoring Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. This day celebrates courage, equality, and the power of students to make a difference.
Students will meet or be dropped off by the school bus at Hillview Baptist Church (725 S. 42nd St.). We will begin walking to school together as a community at 8:20 AM.
Once at school, students will have a great learning opportunity! Throughout the day, they will walk the track and learn about the history of Ruby Bridges and her important role in the Civil Rights Movement.
Early Release - November 13
This is a reminder that we will have an early release on Friday, November 13. Students will finish the school day at 12:30 p.m.
The early release allows time for important staff training and professional development in the afternoon. Thank you for making any needed arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time.
