Parking Permits
In order to purchase a parking permit, a student must meet these requirements, no exceptions:
- have a valid provisional driver's license
- no obligations
- have the minimum amount of service learning hours required (60 for juniors, 75 for seniors)
Upon purchase, the student must provide the following materials:
- valid provisional driver's license
- insurance information
- registration information
- $50.00 cash or check
Copies of the insurance, registration, and the student's license will be made upon purchase and the originals will be returned to the student.
Upon purchasing a CCTC parking permit for the 2025-2026 school year, students must sign a rules and regulations agreement sheet. Students and parents/guardians should read this sheet carefully before signing. All rules and regulations must be followed at all times or the student's parking permit may be suspended or revoked at the discretion of the administration.
One of the most important rules for having a parking permit is your attendance. The state of Maryland considers 18 missed school days as chronically absent. Once a student reaches 10 days of being absent, lawful or unlawful, administration will meet with them and their parking permit may be revoked.
Students with a CCTC parking permit may NOT park at NCHS. If a student wishes to have a NCHS parking permit, they must reach out to NCHS office staff for more information. See map below for location of CCTC student approved parking.
Student's may not purchase permits for other students and previous years permits are NOT valid for the 2025-2026 school year. Students who wish to drive to school must purchase a new parking permit for the 2025-2026 school year. Parking permits are valid for the entire school year.
Parking permits are sold on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. No parking permits will be put on hold for any reason. No exceptions.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking permit applications for the 2025-2026 school year may be picked up in the front office at CCTC beginning Monday August 11th during normal school hours. Applications will also be accepted beginning Monday August 11th during normal school hours. No applications will be handed out in advance and no permits will be sold in advance.
If you have any further questions that were not answered in this email, please do not hesitate to ask.
Cell Phone, Head Phones, and Ear Buds
No cell phones or head phones/ear buds allowed out or on the students desk from bell to bell during every class. Students can use their cell phones between classes and during lunch.
Disciplinary responses if not followed:
1st instance- warning/put away
2nd instance- phone held till end of day, parent contact
3rd instance - phone held till end of day, parent conference, possible ban from school for 30 school days.
*at any time if the student becomes disrespectful/disruptive, the consequence for the more severe behavior will drive the response.
Student Dress Code
Policy: Board of Education of Caroline County
Title: Student Dress Code
Reference: III.31.40
Students of Caroline County Public Schools are required to groom themselves in a manner that is not disruptive to the educational process and is reflective of a learning environment. Students are expected to abide by this dress code from their arrival to the school property to the defined ending of the school day as well as any school-sponsored or school-sanctioned events.
The principal is directed to inform all students, parents/guardians, and staff of the Dress Code Policy at the beginning of each school year, and whenever deemed appropriate, which will be done in the following ways:
Announcements via the public access system at the beginning of the school year and preceding special events.
Publish the information in school newsletters, web pages, and social media.
Publish the information in student handbooks and the Parent Calendar Handbook.
Post the information on a bulletin board or visual displays.
Make the information available for new students through the registration process.
The school principal (or designee) will be responsible for enforcing the Dress Code Policy, making a final decision relative to the appropriateness of a student's attire, for implementing any disciplinary measures, or taking other action in which a decision is required pursuant to any other procedures adopted under this policy.
The requirements of the student dress code include, but are not limited to:
Head Coverings:
Be removed upon entering the school building unless approved for religious or medical reasons.
Certain headbands, scrunchies, and folded bandanas, which are used to hold hair in place and do not cover the entire head, are permitted.
One’s face must be visible at all times.
Shirts:
Shall reasonably cover the back, the cleavage area, and the entire midriff area.
See-through or mesh shirts are not permitted, unless worn in conjunction with an appropriate top.
Dresses/Shorts/Skirts/Skorts/Pants:
Shall cover the entire buttocks and private areas while the student is sitting, standing and bending over.
Pants shall cover undergarments at all times, that is, the waistline of the pants shall be on the upper hips and fastened at the natural waistline.
Other:
Appropriate shoes shall be worn.
No bedroom slippers or pajamas shall be worn.
Clothing that may endanger health or safety, that may be used as a weapon, or that may cause damage to property shall not be worn.
Undergarments shall not be worn as outerwear or be visible through outer garments.
Clothing shall not be worn that would lead school officials to reasonably believe that such attire will materially disrupt, interfere with, disturb, or distract from school activities, the safe operation of the school, or the rights of other students to access and participate in a safe and welcoming educational environment.
Clothing shall not convey advertisements for or promote the use of condoms or other birth control devices, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or the unlawful use of weapons, stated or implied.
Clothing shall not convey profanity or symbols/messages depicting, implying, or which are reasonably perceived as promoting intolerance, hatred, and/or a hostile educational environment or harassment/bullying on the basis of age, color, genetic information, material status, mental or physical disability, ancestry or national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, Confederate Battle Flags and swastikas.
Clothing and accessories shall not depict symbols/messages of groups which are generally recognized as promoting intolerance, hatred, and harassment/bullying, such as the Ku Klux Klan or Aryan nation.
Clothing shall not convey establishments or products whose names can be directly interpreted or construed as carrying a “double meaning” involving sexual inuendo, gang symbols, or sexual activity.
Body art, whether permanent or temporary, which would otherwise violate this policy if depicted on attire, must be completely covered during the school day or at any school-sponsored or school-sanctioned event.
Violations
All Student Dress Code violations shall be addressed in a respectful manner.
If a student is deemed to be in violation of the Dress Code Policy by a member of the staff, that student is to be referred to the principal or, when possible, a administrator of the student’s gender identity, to determine if a violation has occurred.
If it is determined that a violation of the Dress Code Policy has occurred, the student will be asked to change or remove the item and will be given an opportunity to do so. If necessary, parents/guardians will be called requesting appropriate apparel be brought to school prior to the student returning to class. Should the student not be able to change or remove the item, clothing may be provided by the individual school. Student failure to cooperate will be referred to the principal or designee.
Any student not complying with the direction of the principal or designee may be subject to appropriate disciplinary action. The principal or designee may enforce additional restrictions in order to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Request for Exceptions
Exceptions to the dress code for the purposes of school spirit activities by clubs or organizations will occur at the discretion of the school administration.
The conditions and standards outlined in the Dress Code Policy serve to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment. Every effort is to be made to assist students and parents/guardians to understand the dress code.
