Student Health Screenings
Student Health screenings will be conducted during September, October and November in Lexington/Richland Five Schools. Screenings will take place at all Elementary, Intermediate and Middle schools. Screenings and schedules have been devised to keep classroom disruption at a minimum.
Our school screening program is provided to find children with untreated vision and hearing problems. Such problems may make it hard for children to grow and learn. If your child does not meet district guidelines for passing one of the screenings, we will notify you and ask that you have your child checked by a physician or a health care specialist. School screenings are not meant to take the place of an examination by your child’s health care provider. Continue to take your child for regularly scheduled visits with his/her health care provider.
HEC screening is on October 28th, 2025
If you do not want your child /children to be screened at school,
please contact Nurse Kourtney Rast at 803-476-4009 or by email krast@lexrich5.org

🚧 Safety Town 🚧
A HUGE thank you to Town of Irmo for sponsoring “Safety Town” for all of our 4 and 5 year olds! Students rotated through stations and learned about…
💵Money and the Bank
🚲Rules of the Road
🌊Water Safety
💊Prescription/Medicine Safety
👮How Police keep us Safe
📞Calling 911 in an Emergency
🚒Fire Safety
And so much more! Students were immersed in a little town and local community helpers came to help teach our students these important practices. Experiences like this help us build little leaders!
