Great Plains Region Briefing
Andrew Petro, Regional Director
Regional Prayer Cohorts
“Devote yourselves to prayer” (Col. 4:2).
As you probably know, at our recent District Conference we voted unanimously to become the Great Plains Region. Our desire—as we partner together to see the Kingdom advance—is to have God produce in us and through us much fruit for his glory (John 15:8). We hope that God will use us to draw many to himself. We hope that he will make us a holy people, filled with his Spirit, doing his work in his power for the honor of his Name.
This can’t be accomplished without a greater manifestation of the Spirit’s presence and power,
which—in God’s economy—comes only as we pray (See Acts 1:8, 14.) Realizing this, we are kicking off regional prayer cohorts with a solitary purpose—to ask God to lavish his Spirit on us.
We’d like to have you join us. Currently we have one cohort meeting via Zoom every other Monday at 10:00 AM for one hour. The next cohort is scheduled for May 1. We’re contemplating adding an evening prayer time as well, for those unavailable during the morning time slot.
If you’re interested in joining either a morning or evening cohort, please contact me at
andypetro.gpr@gmail.com or Tim Maki at tim@actxnetwork.org.
Let’s seek the Lord together in expectation of the great things he will do.

2023 Prayer Focus: SALT & LIGHT
“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven!” Matthew 5:16
APRIL PRAYER FOCUS — BROKENNESS FOR LOST PEOPLE
WELCOME THE PRODIGAL: “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son’” (Luke 15:20-21).
- Praise the Lord that He welcomed you when you turned to Him.
- Pray for the prodigal(s) in your life that they will become sick of a sinful lifestyle and come home – not just to you but to Jesus.
- Pray for a heart eager to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness.
- Pray for a heart of compassion and forgiveness to receive them with open arms.
SHIFT
- Pray for the Fort Wayne staff as they make preparations for SHIFT. Pray that all the details will come together.
- Pray that God will prepare the hearts of pastors and delegates so that we hear from the Lord and that we are refreshed by His Spirit.
- Pray for the manifest presence of the Lord in every session of conference.
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER — MAY 4, 2023
Whether you gather as a church, a small group or with other churches in your community, pray for the seven spheres of influence in our country. Pray for our government, military, media, business, education, church, and family. Pray for an awakening in each of these entities that influence our culture. For guides on what to pray, go to nationaldayofprayer.org/prayforamerica.
ISRAEL
Israel has been shaken by days of protests by tens of thousands of Israelis taking to the streets to protest controversial proposed judicial reforms. Many Israelis, including both the Messianic and Arab Christian minorities in Israel, fear that these reforms, if implemented, would also give more room for radical Jewish religious groups to persecute and pressure Christians to limit some of their activity. In response to the expressed concerns of Christians’ freedoms in Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu tweeted “We will not advance any law against the Christian community.” Learn more from International Christian Concern.

+We want to be united together in prayer. If you have requests that we could join with you as a District to pray for please email greatplainsregion.mc@gmail.com to have them included in future briefings.
